This Timeless Masterpiece Just Got Bigger And Better!
While Eric Clapton kept on topping the rock and pop charts for the rest of the 1970’sand appeared at live venues on a regular basis, The Guitar God deeply impressed themusic world in 1977 with this ambitious landmark album that not only became anothergreat masterpiece, but what perhaps as his most sophisticated original album to date.Produced with world class excellence, finesse, ambience and richly diverse melodies,Slowhand highly showcases Clapton in his most original and sophisticated form as heoffers a high fidelity mixture of enlightened music, which is peppered by dashes of theblues, mainstream rock, pop and country and western as they deliver it’s full house ofbright intelligent notes from start to finish. Starting with the compulsive, bluesy shuffleof J.J. Cale’s Cocaine, the kaleidoscopic track set proceed with eclectic pace on othertimeless hits like the romantic Wonderful Tonight, the Top Ten hit Lay Down Sally, histake on the blues classic Alberta, We’re All The Way, The Core, Peaches And Diesel,Mean Old Frisco and Greyhound Bus. Hailed as Clapton’s best album, what you alsoget from the Super Deluxe Edition of Slowhand are a couple live performances whereDisc Two includes uplifting live versions of Hello Old Friend, Sign Language, Tell TheTruth, Steady Rollin’ Man and Can’t Find My Way Back Home, while Disc Three haveepic takes on Stormy Monday, Badge, his ebullient 15-minute reindition of I Shot TheSheriff and Layla, as the Super Deluxe Edition sustains itself throughout the course ina more towering format. Plus, you even get to hear a couple live tracks which featurea cameo appearance by Yvonne Elliman on the second disc (notably with her stirringperformance on Can’t Find My Way Back Home), whom Clapton sincerely introducedFor those who to hear this spectacular deluxe edition from start to finish, here is yourdirect chance to give yourself the privilege to hear this special extravagant edition.

Vinyl Review
I'll say up front that the customer service at Amazon is great. I got this in the mail so warped it was unplayable. No problem, no hassle, just sent it back and got a new one. Bummer waiting for the mail, but the process was just what you'd like when something isn't right. The album - this 35th Anniversary edition is very good but still it's no big deal. I've had other copies of this record before. This one sounds just as good as any of them. The disc is a heavy 180 grams, as is the fashion these days. The cover is a reproduction of the original gatefold, but is a thin card stock much like the cheapo covers of the 1980's. There is no printing on the inner sleeve or any other snazzy packaging to differentiate it from any other pressing.Overall, this is a very good pressing that makes a fine replacement for a worn out copy. It is appropriately priced, and is actually quite a good deal compared to retail prices I've seen locally. Those collectors who enjoy the usual special edition goodies won't find them here, though.
