I played this clever little game with my family while my daughter was back from Uni and we all had a really fun night!It's a bit like Balderdash, (or TV shows like Call my Bluff or Would I Lie to You), where you get points by tricking people into believing your fake definitions, but actually a lot more fun because you play in teams so can share out the strategy and trickery.Another nice touch is that each card with an obscure word has three definitions, two fake ones and one true. You can choose whether to use the two fake definitions given, or switch in one or two of your own creation (this is what the Chimps are and are worth more points).This is a really helpful mechanic for making sure to be inclusive to anyone who's not feeling up to the challenge of creating an answer from scratch while also rewarding the bold.All in all, a really nice family game with plenty of banter that's not too intellectual, and thoroughly recommended!

Really enjoyed playing this game with my family! Instructions were easy to follow and we loved the interesting and varied words and phrases along with their definitions. The more we played, the braver we got at coming up with our own Chimp! definitions. Great game for a small group playing against each other - we're going to try playing in teams another time. That'll be fun, chaotic, competitive, loud...

This is a fun family game suitable for children over 12yrs and is a bit like the old 'Call My Bluff' TV gameshow where you have to identify the correct definitions. The definitions that are true are very well-researched and the false ones are written using meticulous and very plausible detail! An unexpected but enjoyable twist to the game gives you the opportunity to win extra points by coming up with a false definition yourself whilst pretending to read it from the card. This is called a Chimp - they are lots of fun to do but quite difficult, depending on how well your family knows you and your skills in duplicity! The compact box makes the game portable and easy to take on holiday, which is where we play most of our games. Highly entertaining!

Chimp is super simple and will leave your vocabulary enriched even if with somewhat obscure new entries! I wouldn’t recommend for very young children as some of the definitions will be too hard to follow but playing with teens worked well. Follow the advice not to read the cards verbatim and it will be easier to “chimp” and win extra points! Could easily be played in teams and or after copious quantities of wine ;-)
