Q: The description says "cast in 18 karat gold." I don't even see gold coloring anywhere in the pictures. What's the deal?

First I bought the XL model , not the gold plated one. I’m not sure if that one is made gold plated ( not cast, meaning it’s not made of gold , just dipped in ) I would suggest you go directly to the eaglemoss website and order directly through them . They would have all the available gold ones there. Also I’ve ordered things through Amazon , and it’s usually labeled and listed correctly but I’ve received the wrong items at least 3 times , good luck

Q: Can a light kit be instale in this model?

I would say no. It comes with several lights.
