I purchased this jacket as a barrier to keep mosquitoes from biting me while I'm on my porch during the hot summer months having a drink and a smoke. The jacket is stylish and very very lightweight. You don't get hot while wearing it. The weather is already 88 degrees with high humidity so the last thing I wanted was to put on anything that would make me burn up. I know, all I have to do is put on bug spray but who wants to do that, knowing that you're already tired and you don't want to go take that shower afterwards. This jacket is used strictly for keeping mosquitoes off me while I relax on the porch at night. And it does the job perfectly.

Lightweight windbreaker but not "water-resistant". It soaks thru in about 2 minutes of light rain.

This jacket does a good job of keep the rain off. I use it mainly for hiking in wet or windy conditions. It is not for warmth really, just to keep rain and wind off. It does a good job. My one issue with it is I had to buy a size larger than I would in most brands.

A thin lining would make the jacket perfect in my opinion!
