The wonderful thing about the iron wolf drives is the warranty. I just sent a drive in for data retrieval. I don't think it was a drive problem. The data disappeared but the directory structure was still there. Basically I took another drive out of the computer and when the computer restarted the data was missing. We will see if Seagate can retrieve the data. They were very professional during the discussions.

I've ordered many of these refurbs now and they show up in pristine condition and read 0 power on time. No issues so far.

First one I ordered, arrived fast from Amazon.And found that one was DOA. (Spun up, but didn't respond as available via the SATA. Multiple computers tried, along with trying multiple cables.)Thought was just a single lemon instance...Returned and ordered another.It arrived and all seemed ok...... Until started copying my image archive to it. Then "write errors". :-(Have to return it too.....Don't waste your time.

Hola..bueno..compre dos 1 vino dañado sonaba como maraca....lo reporte y me lo cambiaron ..por ahora estan funcionando sin problemas...solo los e usado mas o menos 2 semanas en 1 servidor domestico..aver si tengo la suerte que me duren unos años..att el usuario

I'll take part of the blame for this purchase as I didn't pay attention to the renewed in the long product description. This is a renewed or refurbished drive and the price tag on it is a few dollars more than a new drive. Returning it and purchasing a new drive.
