Great dashcam
Great dashcam - purchased this Oct 2023 and did not disappoint. It records well, video and audio, easy to install, and easy to navigate. My car was unfortunately stolen in Jan 2025 and this helped provide strong evidence against the thieves. So I highly recommend getting one. The photos I upload are from the night it got stolen.

Requires a U3 memory card
Good, compact and sturdy dash cam. Dropping a star though as it requires a U3 grade memory card and no where on the description does it tell you this. Bought the wrong one on Amazon’s suggested products and had to return

Good camera for cars etc
Bought this to replace a older Nexbase camera on my wife’s car, the old one is on my vehicle, I chose Nextbase again as I was happy with the previous one just wanted to to get a later technology, easy to fit easy to get up and running good crisp picture this one has a rear view camera attached which is useful. Cost was reasonable to.Would recommend

Good branded dash cam, and so tiny!
Got a good car? Then you'll need a reliable dash cam? This is the Nextbase 222x Dash Cam Front And Rear 1080p / 30fps Camera, 2.5" Display Screen 140° Wide Angle 6 Lane Wide Viewing, Movable With Night Vision And Parking Mode. Micro SD Not Included And Not WiFi Model With App.This camera is really easy to use, not only the front camera but you get a rear clip on one, will need to get a decent 64GB Micro SD Card, they are about £6.Please charge your camera for two hours firstly or you will struggle when setting up.It's real easy to install, place passenger side near centre windscreen top by rear view mirror, then cable manage camera with the tool to push cable under trim (roof trim then door trim then along under glove box to power source) and then power up in cigarette lighter slot. A massive bonus is the USB slot in the charge head. Huge bonus that!Once installed you can set up via onscreen menus, the defaults are fine, I just increase clip length to 2 minutes. You can also turn off voice recording unless you want to hear your kids singing We Don't Talk About Bruno.Overall this dash cam is decent, the price is pretty spot on, but if you want WiFi connection via app, you will need to pay an extra £90 eeeeek.Recommended.

Great little dashcam
I decided to get myself a dashcam as I had a few near misses. This arrived on time and in good packaging.Whilst you can get a professional to fit this I chose to do this myself. It was a little fiddly getting the cables behind some of the interior trim but luckily you do get a bit of plastic to help you so it’s not too bad.Once all connected the camera itself is easy to use. I would say though to be careful when fitting it to the wind screen. It’s very sticky so make sure you are putting in the right place otherwise it’ll be much harder to remove and restick.Playback is also very easy. And the picture quality is decent as well. It’s not quick iPhone quality but it’s still pretty good.I’ve had this in my car now for quick a while and have had no problems with it.

Does the job - But incompatable with rear modules and expensive for what you get.
It's a fairly serviceable dashcam, but I don't think its amazing value. If you're going to go for a next base camera, go for a higher-end model that gives you rear cam compatibility. Otherwise, I think you're better off going for an inexpensive brand. If all you're after is something to capture front-facing car footage and extract footage after an incident, you could just go for one of many cheaper alternatives and have a similar experience, as most of these cameras use the same two or three sensors. None of them have outstanding video quality so you might want to read out plates as well to be safe.I like the camera mount that comes with it. Having the ability to just remove the camera without needing to pop off the entire mount is rather convenient. However, my car was recently rear-ended. I'm lucky the driver didn't try to do a runner; if they had, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to catch their plates. I didn't have a rear camera and I was a bit too shaken up to read out the plates to at least keep an audio record.I knew Nextbase sold rear camera modules, so I was hoping to get one following this incident. Unfortunately, it appears the 222 is not compatible with a rear camera module. Given the price and confusing naming scheme around the 222/222x/222g/222xrwc and how some of these models are compatible with a rear camera, I was pretty disappointed.
