I didn’t realize that you had to change these. I’ve just cleaned with vinegar every week with the entire unit. Once I ordered these my cats no longer drank from the fountain. I tried everything (soaking in water like the filter, cleaning with soap, then tried vinegar) for over a month. Every week trying a different tactic. But they drank from the toilet instead. The moment I removed this entirely.. it’s now their main water supply again. What’s in this thing? Cats are so picky!
