I have a bike rack in my truck that locks the front tire down securely... but I'm kind of a freak so I bought a package of 4 of these and use them to add that additional security of keeping my bike upright. They are easy to use and don't have a ratchet system, which can sometimes be a nightmare. Also, it has a sliding pad so you don't scratch your bike. Good product and very good price. FYI - you can cut them to your desired length. If you do cut them, use a lighter to singe the end you cut. It will just make it easier when feeding it through the clamp. One more note; I leave these in my truck at all times and have had them for over a month and the ratchet has not rusted at all.

Bought these for extra security on my car carrier for a trip from Michigan to Florida. They did an excellent job of keeping everything held down and in place on the trip. My car is a Fusion, so I have no racks, but the straps go inside the car and there was a lot of extra slack, so they were dangling and blocking my view through my rear window, but that’s because we forgot to tape them before we left. It’s a pretty easy minor annoyance to fix, we were just in such a hurry we forgot to do it! Otherwise these worked fabulously!

I'm using these straps to hold down a tarp and they work great. Well made and keep things very secure in the heavy winds.

The straps are solid and the buckles are solid; it is the exact same strap that has been on the market for the last 30 years. HOWEVER! The neoprene pad that sits under the buckle is TOO THIN to be of any use. You will have to put something under the buckle to prevent it from dinging your board. If you are strapping down lumber these straps are perfectly fine. If however you are carrying something that is fragile or beloved do not use these straps.
