Good quality, consistent diameters, nice storage container too
I'm the neighborhood "fix-it" guy, and small rusted/broken springs are a problem because most often the items I repair are no longer made and replacement parts are nonexistent. This spring wire is really good stuff, and there is a large selection of diameters for springs necessary for clocks, lamps, firearms, appliances, etc. Making a spring is relatively easy using simple hand tools. Be sure to wear eye pro!

Excellent wire for making your own custom springs.
I had a broken spring in a turn signal stalk and they wanted $350 to replace the entire stalk. With this wire, I was able to manufacture replacement springs for under $20. It works great. The spring wire is easy to manipulate with a set of spring pliers and it holds it shape well.Absolutely what I needed. Everything is fixed now.

Alright
I bought these stainless steel rods specifically for one purpose: to clear the broken lead stuck in my 0.3 mm mechanical pencil. The broken lead was stuck in the retractable 0.3 mm diameter metal tip, and I had nothing that thin to try to clear the stuck lead. This steel rod set had among many other diameters the 0.3 mm rod which I successfully used to get the broken lead out and get my mechanical pencil working again. So I am satisfied that the job I purchased the set for was done. There are a few items worth mentioning here which go beyond my limited and specific application. The first thing is that the description of the item said it contained 156 pieces, but the steel rod set that I received had a label on the plastic tube containing the rods which said 131 pieces. I didn't actually bother to count these rods to make sure whether that was correct or not, but the set contained many rods of various diameters and they seemed to match the general description of the steel rod set. Of course, to me, the only real diameter which mattered was the 0.3 mm diameter and I could see several of these rods of that diameter. The bottom line here is that I paid around 16 cents a rod and I was OK with that.Secondly, several reviewers had complained about some sticky tape used to group together the various diameter sizes in their orders. Well, the set that I received didn't have any tapes or other means of separating the rods of various diameters. They were all put together loosely in a plastic tube which served to protect the rods in transport. While the lack of individual grouping made counting and identification of various rod diameters more difficult, but on the other hand, it had the benefit of not having to deal with adhesive residue left over from the sticky tape. And finally, several reviewers have complained about the actual material the rods might be made of. In other words, they have questioned whether the rods are 'spring' steel. As I am not so well-versed in the metallurgical or material sciences, I have no way of ascertaining or disputing these complaints. What I can say is that the rods feel and look like stainless steel. Whether they are in fact stainless steel (or even steel at all), and if they are steel, whether they are 'spring' steel is a rather scientifically oriented determination which I am afraid is beyond my abilities and focus. But in closing I can say that these rods (and specifically the 0.3 mm ones) did the work I needed them to do. On that basis, I will have no hesitation in buying this steel rod set again.

Wires are fine
I bought these wires to have a selection of material to make springs. They work and I don't have any complaints about the resulting springs. However, there is a problem (not the fault of the material). Because the lengths are all the same, there will rarely be a perfect match of length to need. So, after making a couple of springs, I also bought some rolls of a couple of diameters. In particular, I needed some springs that could be made longer.Having the set of fixed length wires along with a couple of rolls gives me some good options.

This Stuff Works.
Works. This is a comprehensive collection of spring steel sizes. Did the job for me.

Great when you don't know what size you need for sure.
I personally didn't know what size of spring I needed to make, just knew it needed less than 0.5mm and this bundle has a lot to choose from. I used the biggest size to help make a 3D printed Torsion spring maker.I really like the amount of rods you get giving anyone plenty of room to mess up a few while you get the hang of spring making.Came packaged nicely in a plastic tube , no bent rods. Will have to come up with some uses for the unused rods. Good to have on hand too I guess.

Perfect for Me
It may not be "spring steel' and it may not be guitar strings but it's perfect for use in model building and that's all I care about. Five stars.

This is not a spring steel
This is not a spring steel. This metal permanently bends without flexing.
