I think that MERV 8 is the cost/performance sweet spot for home air filters. The Aerostar brand protects my air handler well enough without making the blower work too hard. I have a PM2.5 particulate meter that usually displays low single digits, so the MERV 8 filter is restrictive enough to keep my indoor air scrubbed. These filters should be changed every 3 months, and they're sturdy enough to last a lot longer if you forget or procrastinate. They're marked to show correct air flow, and installation is easy.

Airlfilters are like printer ink - just can't figure out why they cost what they do. I always try to stock up when I see some on sale that seems quality. Found these on discount. I have a small (1000 sq ft) apartment. 2 intakes - these easily lasted 3 months during fall when system wasn't on a much. Winter I changed them right at 2 and they were still ok. Have not used during peak pollen, tend to upgrade the MERV rating in spring

They are easy to install and definitely do the job but the quality could be better. The price is also a lot lower than buying at the store so these are good if you’re going to change your filter often.

Great filters

I have severe allergies, and switching to this brand has honestly been a godsend. These filters work incredibly well with dust collection, removing allergens with ease. They’re the best‑quality filters I’ve used so far. They fit my vent perfectly, and while there was a slight bend, it was nothing compared to other brands I’ve tried.
