The turquoise beads are obviously (good quality) simulants, but the pearls have luster, the baroque pearl drop is beautiful & the gold wrapping is lovely (& isn't so "bright" that it looks cheap). I have no idea how this company can sell these for this price, but it was so beautiful that I bought a 2nd one for myself (I bought the 1st one as a gift). But if you want it to hang longer, it does have a 2-in extender; however, it's still a choker (which works great for me; I'm only 5' and most necklaces hang longer than I'd like). A must-have for Spring/Summer! Very elegant and well-made.
