This Wakizashi arrived straight and sharpened. Initially everything is solid and well put together - no rattle, no wobble. The No-Bohi blade is 20.5 inches long and 7mm thick at the Habaki. There is a good distal taper that keeps the point of balance closer to your hand. The Tsuka handle is 8.25 inches long. The tang draws a magnet out until the last 1.8 inches of handle.I like the Tsuba more than I probably should - it doesn't draw a magnet, but (like most katanas made today) none of the hardware does. This dragon Tsuba has grown popular with a few other sword builders lately - DeJiang uses it on one of their popular swords. This katana also came with an inexpensive, nylon sword bag. It is the common (2 layer black/white) variety that many different sellers often include free and sometimes without mention. This Wakizashi arrived inside of a clamshell style box, held in place by 6 (U-shaped) pieces of Styrofoam. The smell of Choji oil hits immediately after opening it, which is a significant improvement over the typical reek of machine oil, and it does enhance the experience of receiving the katana.Besides the free sword bag, the handle was shrink wrapped and the blade wore a thin plastic sleeve that kept the Choji oil from evaporating.Really this is just the smartest way to deliver a katana, and it is pretty clear why the Original Katana Swords company gets so much return business - straight, sharpened swords with an emphasis put on creating a pleasant receiving experience for the buyer. Also, the nondescript Amazon delivery box was much appreciated.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for.my grandson. It's beautiful and looks to be well made. It's not used, but hung on his wall for looks. Great value for the money.

Katana delivered on time. The entire unit is exceptional for a production blade. The minor components are as expected and commercial, however the fit and finish are above expectations. Obvious attention to detail over the entire sword has been taken.I own several custom one of a kind swords of very discrete quality of old world craftsmanship with modern technology.Says made in China on the box, not sure about all of the origin.. I do know for the price you will not be disappointed when you inspect this Blade.. look at in natural light. I chose to buy on curiosity how well could a 9260 steel blade commercially and inexpensively be built. With that said.Recommended as a great start to the affliction of owning weapons of all kinds, Enjoy the quest 🍀🇺🇸🤙CJD

Gets a huge surprise response when given as a gift
Wow, this sword comes in a very long package, making it highly conspicuous. Keep that in mind if you are trying to hide it from someone, and come up with good excuse, like it is a walking cane. The gold wrap is a bit on the cheap feeling side, almost like plastic, but the reality is that nobody really handles that part, and they view it on display. It looks very impressive, and when you draw the sword, it is looks every bit as dangerous as you want it to look. Be sure to buy a practice (dull plastic) sword to practice some proficiency. Not a toy and if you are serious about using it for self defense (ever), then practice, practice, practice! Should an emergency need ever arise, you don't want it to be only the second time you've ever drawn it from the scabbard. A great gift item! Wish someone would give one to me!

Excellent for the price!
The sword is as advertised. I was septical. A high-carbon, differentially heat-treated blade—and with just ONE bevel (or sharp edge)! Too often, there is the real bevel, and then a steel ground micro bevel on the very edge, destroying its ability to cut through material (as the edge bevel has angles too obtuse to be any good) effectively. This has just the one very acute bevel, or sharp edge.Caveat: Okay, I’m impressed. And that takes a lot. But there are two things:• The edge is not razor sharp. It is very sharp, though. So do be careful.• The sword is 3.6 lbs. One might say it’s chunky, needs a diet. A true battle-worthy katana would weigh about 1.5 lbs. This sword cannot be wielded nearly as well as a lighter sword. But, I’m not going into battle with it, so it’s a small complaint.I like things like this to be CAPABLE of battle—albeit forever prohibited from ever thusly engaging. Unless, of course, to me rise the occasion—home invasion or something. Maybe scare them before I get shot. LOL“I never draw it, except it taste no blood.” May it rest on its rack on my wall… forever.Oh yeah—IT’S TOTALLY WICKED!!!
