It works really good

Okay, so I’ll get right to it with this review, I absolutely love this product because it has lots of cleaning agents, but no bleach. I have a natural replacement for the bleach, but I’ll get back to that in a minute. I was looking for a new toilet cleaner because I moved to an area with really hard water and the organic stuff I had been using for the past couple years wouldn’t work on the hard water line. This one worked, and it removed the hard water line, but it wasn’t the bowl wasn’t as bright as it was when I used the organic stuff. After a few hours of internet searching, I discovered that using good ol citric acid (this is my household brand I can’t recommend enough: Citric Acid Powder - Ultra Fine Pure Powdered Crystals - Natural Preservative Food Grade Quality (16 oz) worked really well as a bleach substitute when cleaning kitchens and bathrooms and I gave it a try. Basically I sprayed a little bit of a citric acid and water solution in the toilet, and then after about 5 minutes, I added the lysol cling toilet cleaner. After doing this, my toilet looked brand new, it was so white and clean, I swear it sparkled. In case anyone was wondering, in addition to the toilet bowl, I also used the citric acid spray on my tub, shower, disposal, and dishwasher, and it worked really well at cleaning without any disgusting bleach fumes. It’s really easy to stop using bleach, and with natural enhancers like citric acid, this lysol cling cleaner is great as it is bleach free!

We like this brand best. It clings really well and does a good job. We also put it around the bathroom sink drain and let it sit for ten minutes, and it cleans the gunk around the drain.

I recently purchased my first bottle of Lysol Country Scent Cling Gel and have found that it does a good job of cleaning the toilet bowls in my home. I haven't encountered any of the staining problems some reviewers have reported and have used this product in three different brands of toilet fixtures (Kohler, Gerber and Toto). However, in comparing this to Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner With Bleach Clean Scent Bottle 24 Oz , which is the toilet bowl cleaner I had previously used, I can tell you that there is significantly more dye in this Lysol product than there is in the Clorox. This Lysol was available through Prime Pantry at a great price so I decided to give it a try. It costs a dollar less here on Amazon than it costs from my local grocery store. I really can't tell any difference in performance or cleaning effectiveness between these two brands (Clorox and Lysol). Both are thick and cling to the sides of the bowls as you would expect. I have no complaints or concerns to share and will continue purchasing this Lysol product as long as I can get it for such a great price through Amazon Prime Pantry. I purchased this in October of 2014 and paid $1.97 for the 24 oz bottle. Shipping was included with my Prime Pantry order.

I like the price, but I don't care for the scent. If you line the toliet bowl with this cleanser, within a few minutes the bathroom and the surrounding rooms will smell like chemicals. So, I recommend only letting it sit for a few minutes before brushing the bowl and flushing. I do think that the consistency is spot on for a toliet cleaner- thick enough to have some staying power but thin enough to swirl around with a brush. I also think this is more effective at cleaning stained bowls than a more natural cleaner such as the Method mint scented toilet bowl cleaner. All in all, I would buy this again but wish the scent was toned down.
