I went an Asian culture event that was either going to be pouring rain or sun all day, so I needed something thematically appropriate. I picked up this and a non-oiled parasol, since the price was right. The day ended up being sunny, but I loved this parasol so much I decided to keep it. The paper does have an oil smell to it, but I didn't find it to be overpowering or putrid at all like some reviewers have mentioned. I opened it and left it outdoors for a few hours (it was raining a little and the oiled paper worked beautifully) and then kept it inside to dry and air out a little more.The paper is very thin and feels quite delicat, so I do urge caution. Also, because the paper is practically translucent, I probably wouldn't recommend this to be used for both rain and sun.

This umbrella is very pretty, but it has a weird smell. I bought this back in 2019 for a photoshoot and it still smells weird nearly 4 years later. (It's now 2023 as I'm writing this review.)

I purchased this parasol for a client photo session and was surprised by the quality. The little girl, age 3, took off with it once I opened it and was swinging it around, bouncing it off trees and the ground without any issues or breaks. The print is absolutely lovely, would definitely purchase again.

Not sturdy at all. It broke the first time I opened it up. It's pretty though.

Disappointed in this product. It looks very much like yellowed varnish was slopped over waxed paper. The whiteness of the paper depicted on their marketing page on Amazon is completely absent: the subtle gradient color shift from red to pink in the flowers as shown in the marketing page is also undetectable. The varnishing oil is very splotchy giving an inconsistent, undesirable look to the product. It was of course shipped folded up, but where the paint color touched the unpainted background, the color has bled as if it was not given time to dry or cure properly. I would never have paid the $21.29, had I known the actual product was such poor quality and looks so drastically different from the images posted on their marketing page.

The parasol is lovely, well-made and looks fantastic in our Japanese themed room.
