I paint cars for a living, felt I need an induced air respirator. The 3m is to pricey so I started looking for one that wouldn't break the bank. Found this one and bought it thinking it was too cheap to be true and good quality. once it arrived I tested it right away and fell in love immediately. After a few uses it started filtering from the quick disconnect, cut the hose adjusted properly and works great now. modified original filter to use 3m filters just to be on the safe side, couldn't find filter replacements anywhere that's why I modified the original one. works like a charm. ended up buying one for my brother and he loves his as well.

I am using this on a regular basis and it works very well for me. I am now able to finish furniture without worrying about the fumes.

The unit works well and I would recommend it.Things to consider:I am using a 3M respirator (not included).It takes a lot of air. I have a 20 gallon, 5.3 cfm @90psi oil free compressor and it runs a lot. I use this respirator when gluing with mek based adhesives with a vent fan over the glue table. I turn the air up until the mask is flooded and I cannot smell the glue. Even at that I sometimes will take a sudden breath and get a wiff of glue.Be sure to place your compressor where it will not be ingesting fouled air. No sense pumping bad air into your mask.I use a Metabo 50' polyurethane air hose which is very light, flexible and odor free. On occasion I run some vinegar through the hose to disinfect it.Drain your compressor often. As you can see in the picture, the stains in the incoming water separator. It is good to have the filter. The compressor tank will heat up under continued use (I may go for hours at time) and a lot of water does not condense out before entering the hose. Water separation good.The fresh water feed is nice, but very sensitive to setting. If too much is used it will drip from the mask. Make very small adjustments to get it just right.I am not sure if the extra fitting for a spray gun or other device will supply enough air for a paint gun. My compressor goes to about 120psi and I regulate it to about 60 psi for breathing only.The spare port should have a plug provided for when it is not being used. I took a piece of the tube supplied and melted the end to seal it to plug this port (see photo).A carabiner clip helps to control the riser hose to the mask as in photo.

Quality of the filter system is top notch - worth the price of admission - and it comes with a spare filter.Fit my 3M full face mask perfectly and I was pleased with the locking regulator - one minor but appreciated safety feature, given that nothing comes through the mask if the air supply is cut off or reduced.Only warning - if you've got a waist over 41", order a longer 1.5" nylon belt, this one isn't going to fit us fatties.
