Cold Steel Bird & Trout Steel Handle (Concealex Sheath)

Just received my Cold Steel Bird & Trout knife today. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, of course, but I'll add to this review in the next few days after a planned fishing trip to report actual use in the field. (Some may think I sound overly optimistic, but the fishing is Very good here in the Yellowstone Valley of Montana). For the first time, I've received a CS knife that was not shaving sharp right out of the box. It was damn close though, and just a few swipes on a fine grit pocket diamond hone had it shaving. As stated, I think this knife is well named, and will be the ideal tool to pack either fishing or bird hunting. Nice, even, perfectly flat grind should cut and gut like a house afire. Smooth satin bead blast finish, (or could be fine sand blast) is attractive and non glare. The ring ended handle is a nice idea for your pinky to retain hold on knife while freeing your other fingers without puttung the knife down. 2 1/4" blade w/ knife & company name etched. The secure-x sheath seems quite stiff and sturdy, with a positive lock button that might wear out easily, but time will tell. Handy strong black neck chain. Over all a very cool little blade, and at $13, I think it's an another absolute steal from Cold Steel. Well worth the money, I may pick up a few more as x-mas presents or at least 1 more for myself. To be continued, (as if I haven't blathered enough already), hah! Oh, shipping was well within projected time period, good job!

Es handelt sich um ein kleines als Neckknife konzipiertes Messer für Angler und Jäger. Ich habe das Messer fürs Angeln gekauft und bin schwer begeistert. Klein, leicht und scharf ist es ehr gut geeignet, wenn man unterwegs (beim Paddeln zum Beispiel) einen Fisch waidgerecht töten und ausnehmen muss und eben keinen Tisch etc. zur Verfügung hat. Durch das Fingerloch kann man das Messer aus der Hand „legen“ ohne es ablegen zu müssen, da man es am kleinen Finger hängen lassen kann und es (nach ein wenige Übung) mit einer Drehbewegung der Hand wieder greifen kann. Ich habe es in der Praxis an zwei kleinen Barschen getestet und es hat sehr gut funktioniert.
