Really enjoyed this book and left me guessing until the end, I couldn’t put it down so had to stay up late to finish. Totally recommend.

Cracking mis-per thriller
Aidan is the son who can do no wrong in his parents’ eyes. That is until his sister disappeared visiting him stateside, not that they openly blamed him but it must have been a black mark on his impeccable record. So when a chance sighting of his sibling comes to light, he is compelled to follow the breadcrumbs to find her. And these breadcrumbs take him to something more horrifying than a house made of gingerbread, cake, and candy but definitely something sinister at the centre of it all.As I got deeper and deeper into this missing person mystery, I discovered a very dark world that Edwards had created. A world that in all honesty, I could imagine existing in the States but hoped was just what I’d seen in films. A world where in a small town pull the shutters down to the outsiders and don’t like troublemakers or questions. This community – just 😱😱😱 they really are something! No Place To Run is a cracking thriller that kept me captivated, but I didn’t get the hebbie jeebie head-f*** feeling that I got from some of his previous novels. For me this was a slight sidestep away from Edwards’s usual psych-thriller book. That said, I really enjoyed my trip to Northern California. It was a long way from the sunny beaches of Baywatch or the glamour of Beverly Hills which is what I imagine when I think California! I felt like I was in a remote part of the US, transported to a small town cut off by woodland and farms. If you like an intense fast-paced thriller that’ll keep you guessing, No Place To Run will tick all the boxes. I would never have predicted what was going to happen and the full story of Scarlett’s disappearance.

It was an OK read
As a huge Mark Edwards fan, I've been looking forward to this book and bought it as soon as it became available. It was different to his previous books, with it being more fast paced and full of car chases, gun fights, violence, etc.The only thing that really put me off is the predictability. I don't think it's much of a spoiler to say that in the story, one of the important characters dies. I thought wow, I didn't expect that! But then it hit me. It's a book by Mark Edwards - and no main character ever dies in his novels. And guess what - a couple of pages later the character turned out to be alive, just like in every other book I've read from him. From then the book lost its magic. I already knew what was going to happen - the good guys win and the bad guys get their punishment. And sadly, I was right. Not like I didn't like the characters, but it's marketed as a psychological thriller, and the whole point of those is that you are worried and don't know what is going to happen, which definitely isn't the case with the novels of this author

Gripping and thrilling in equal measure
A very strong storyline, believable and well researched. The characters Aiden and Lana were intelligent and likeable, both had a sense of humour and the chemistry between them was tangible. Aiden was a IT expert and Lana a post-grad student, both were looking for their respective siblings. I don't want to provide any spoilers. A very enjoyable and thrilling read, especially towards the end when the writer ramps up the tension. I will definitely look out for more books by this author.

A real knicker twister of a story!
What I most enjoyed about this novel is the strong female roles in it. Whilst it mainly focuses on Aidan, there are a few female characters who are strong willed and it was good to see this as too often, in thrillers especially, they can come across as weak and constantly in need of saving. Lana especially is a real kick ass and I loved her character. The reader is given no real clue as to what has happened to Aidan’s sister Scarlett. Is she in fact dead and the new lead just another dead end or is she really alive and if so why hasn’t she been in touch before now? The build up of suspense was sublime! Whatever has happened to her, it’s causing a lot of feathers to be ruffled which puts both Lana and Aidan in serious danger. No place to Run not only had me glued to the pages but also to my seat. Each chapter brings a new sense of danger, making my heart beat that much faster. There is a lot of thrilling revelations, of which some were very unpleasant indeed! As we get closer to the conclusion, it makes for some stomach clenching reading as to whether Aidan will ever find his sister or not and if she will be alive or dead. A real knicker twister of a story!

Frighteningly good!
I've read a few Mark Edwards books but No Place To Run has been my favourite so far. A thrilling, scary & well written story about Ecoterrorism, the bond between siblings & a daring rescue!

Good story
Mark Edwards is one of my favourite authors and have read nearly all of his books but I found this book wasn’t the same as the others. I really like his psychological thrillers. This one was more of an action thriller with gun fights. It was still thrilling though and very tense. I still enjoyed the story and finished it in a couple of days. I loved how the story ended.
