Fox Run Mushroom Egg Piercer, Short Handle Slicer, Metallic

This egg slicer works great. The materials seem to be of good quality too.When we first got it, I was worried because there seemed to be a lot of play in the hinges between the two pieces. But, it turns out that the slicer works well and is easy to use. The play in the hinges may even be a benefit -- allowing the top with the wires to easily find its way through the bottom of the slicer. (We have only used it with eggs).

I wanted an egg slicer to make hard boiled eggs more exciting for my toddlers, and to help get them involved in breakfast. I thought this egg slicer had promise, but after the second egg the wires snapped and made it completely useless. It's possible that I had a defective unit, and since I did like the design I gave it two stars instead of one. It broke so easily though, that I didn't even want to try for a replacement, and instead got a refund. Too bad. Try at your own risk.

Cutting wires are not sturdy enough and smatches all but smallest mushrooms.

We already owned the "3 Way Egg Slicer" but as often as we used it I wanted to buy a different one for a faster & better quick clean with a sponge & dish soap. This slicer is easy & works well. Best of all the "grill" base is open on the sides of the bottom to swipe a sponge across, another swipe on top of the "grill". Follow up with a couple swipes of the wires & done:-) (Some other slicers require jamming the sponge into small gaps or a cup shape underneath & you don't know if you cleaned all the egg residue so I'm much happier with this one)

I've only used this for slicing hard-boiled eggs but its worked very well. Definitely saves me time and effort. I put it in the dishwasher and therefore its easy to clean. I can't speak to how it would hold up if I was slicing something tougher than eggs but I have a feeling the slicing wires would not last so long. But for eggs, its perfect. The slices are 1/4" thick which works just fine for potato salad.

but it seems a little flimsy. Haven't used it all that much, but we'll see how it holds up over time.

This slicer works well but it is really hard to clean and keep from tarnishing. It slices eggs better than vegetables.

After throwing out my damaged old with the stainless steel ard with cutting wires, I then saw this whole stainless steel unit on Amazon. com. From the picture, it looked less than sturdy. But After purchasing the unit, it was sturdier than I expected and it performed exactly as it was supposed to.

Build is ok, but, not heavy duty. Very thin stainless steel. Would not pile other things on top, as it would get damaged

Don't buy it. Quintessential example of imported throw away junk. Amazon needs to stop selling this kind of crap. The thing is basically just folded up tin foil in the shape of an egg slicer.

Works great on fresh mushrooms and eggs, broke while trying to slice slightly dehydrated mushrooms.

What did you expect? Chopped liver?? LOL

Used twice on eggs and the wire snapped. Waste of money, even if it was $8.
