this brush is amazing!
we have a 90 lbs wooly malamute that sheds year round. we've tried 6 or 7 other brushes that were supposed to get the undercoat... but none of them worked well so we assumed that daily brushing and weekly changing of the AC filter was going to be an ongoing problem. wow! brushing her gently with this brush pulls out a handful of undercoat with every 2 or 3 strokes. for the first time ever, we dont have fur laying in every corner of the house. this brush is a lifesaver. (the 19+27 teeth model is the one that we purchased.) a the shorter teeth pull a lot less hair out and are very gentle... but fill up with almost every stroke. the side with the longer teeth works wonderfully, as well, but is a little harder to pull through and -- perhaps -- even removes too much of her undercoat (which certainly was never a concern with any of the other brushes we own).

Every good as advertised and better!
Truly as good as all of the reviews say. Sometimes I find some of the reviews can exaggerate, but this one measures up in every way. I have been a professional dog trainer for over 15 years as well as running a rescue. It was mostly breed specific for Australian Shepherd‘s and if anyone has ever owned an Australian Shepherd, you know how hard it is to keep up those beautiful coats. The undercoat is tough even though it’s one of the things that makes them beautiful. Because the amount of dogs I’ve always had, I’ve always tried grooming myself for financial purposes. Taking care of these gorgeous babies has been a struggle and I have tried many, many products to make it easier. For years I used a FURminator, but I felt that it did a disservice to them as the blade acted almost like a razor chopping those beautiful hairs off. Unfortunately, until now, it was the only thing I found that worked. Well now I found something that I will never change from! There are no blades to cut the hair and the way it is designed makes it so there is basically no pain whatsoever while using it. While my dogs Still don’t love being brushed, the entire experience has improved 10 times over. I would recommend this to anyone who has a double coated dog, or even a dog with long hair that mats. I tried this particular comb on 2 Labrador retrievers not thinking it would work well on shorthair dogs. It didn’t do the job 100%, but if you use short quick strokes, it will take out a good portion of their loose coats. The entire experience has improved 100%. I’ve recently adopted an Australian Shepherd puppy who has THE thickest coat I’ve seen. It’s been a nightmare trying to get her puppy coat out and now the under coat that she’s blowing this summer. I was worried about a lifetime of struggles, but now that we have this, I feel much better. Recommend to anyone at all who grows their own dogs and even those who don’t groom their own dogs for those quick in between touchups.

Buy one, it will change your's and your dogs life!
AMAZING!!!!! The best! We have 2 Australian Shepards currently, a 3 and 1 year old. We also had one prior. In all of the years we have fought with trying to get out the undercoat. Our 3 year old is a hair bear! I looked at reviews and looked at many videos on You Tube. I debated doing the short clipper cut this year as I was desperate and in all of the years struggled with not being able to efficiently remove the undercoat. Of course the goal was to cool the dog down by removing the winter coat. I found a video that said NO, DO NOT clipper cut your dog. The trick is to remove the undercoat.. The PawsPamper Extra Wide undercoat rake, 20 tooth is the answer to my prayers. Thank you Amazon for selling this item and for the description and reviews. You use short strokes and the undercoat easily comes out. The teeth are rounded on the ends so you do not need to worry about scratching the dogs skin like a slicker or other metal tooth brushes and combs do, but again this tool is BEYOND AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I find it odd that it is not sold in pet stores to my knowledge, but it is the most important grooming tool you can have. We were skeptical if it really worked. WOW, from the first stroke, within 10 minutes we had a huge pile of hair that we could not remove with any tool we have had in the past. The tool is worth its weight in gold, and it is very well made. I am not a person that generally leaves reviews but I had to for this and honestly you will love this ii you have a dog with an undercoat. My only regret is that I can only give it a 5 star rating as it really deserves a 10 star rating. THANK YOU PAWSPAMPER! You have changed our lives and our dogs!

Oh my. The hype is real.
I dont write reviews, but when I got my long haired German Shepherd puppy I knew I needed a good de-shedder. I tried a slicker type, which didnt do anything but comb down her hair. I tried a brush which just made her coat look more presentable. Then I saw the reviews for this and thought..."Hmm what's all the hype about? More paid reviews?" I am always skeptical about too many high reviews. Well, as soon as I got it, I tried it Holy Moley! That darn thing had hair coming off in masses.. My puppy didnt pull away like she did with the slicker, so Im assuming it's much more comfortable / tolerable. I am impressed! It works just like they said it would. Her coat looks totally different. So much nicer. And yes, it doesnt annoy her like the other de-shedder. I recommend it to anyone who wants an effective and well priced de-shedder.

Good for double coats
Works pretty well for both double coated and single dogs. You have to work a bit harder for the thicker coats, and my dog gets tired of it after a while but it helps a great deal with shedding.

The cure to Furageddon?
Living with a Landseer or any double coated breed for that matter can be a struggle. They bring coat blowing and shedding to a whole new level. This little grooming tool brings me hope. It doesn't look like it could do much, but looks can be deceiving. I pulled it out of the package just to give it a quick try, 40 minutes later my 110 lb. beast was brushed out. We more than cut our normal groom time in half with the absolute best results I've ever had with any grooming tool. It seem very well made, with good materials. It felt nice in my hand, and didn't cause any fatigue. It takes zero effort to clean fur from the rake. I don't see any tines or teeth breaking or bending like other shed tools. I have no doubt that it will hold up over time. Added bonus, it cleaned the fur off of a low pile rug and a smooth fabric couch. My dog seem much more content with this tool than any other we have tried. Went through both long fur (6to8 inches) and shorter fur (2to3 inches), it could not brush his lower legs (very short, smooth fur) Undercoat came out in huge handfuls with light brush strokes. Very impressive. Extremely happy with this product! In the photo is a 110 pound dog in the midst of blowing his coat. The pile of fur is 13 inches tall and about 32 inches across.

Fantastic Brush!
I have three dogs, one is a shep/husky mix, another coonhound/shep mix, and chihuahua/pug mix. The two bigger ones leave a LOT of hair and I was vacuuming every day just to keep up with the hair tumbleweeds. I tried a couple of the regular brushes and even the glove and they worked okay, but the hair was flying all over. A co-worker of mine suggested this product to me and I have to say it works fantastic. It takes the matted knots out with ease, I have less tumbleweeds flying all over, it is gentle on the dogs and they love it. The hair that comes out as you brush stays in the combs so you can easily dispose of it. I also used to have to hold them while I brushed them but with this, they see me coming and lay down and will move around a bit for me to get certain spots and don't want me to stop. Matter of fact they fight over who goes first! Highly recommend this product.

Quality sharp specialty rake
This tool is well made and fits well in my hand. It's sharp and pulls our a considerable amount of coat, that being said it's not for everyday grooming. It's more of a finishing the thicker spots you want to bring down rake rather than a rake you would use for everyday grooming of the undercoat. I over used it the first time I worked on my Newfie who was blowing coat and took out way to much causing bald spots and skin irritation. This tool works so well you only need to pass through the coat 2 or 3 times and only in limited areas, it's not an all over rake. I'm happy with my prchadey and may need it in the future when his lush coat grows back but I will be purchasing a regular undercoat rake for weekly grooming.
