Sweet
In this first book we get to meet Nyx a wolf shifter that can't shift. When she can't find a mate and is kicked out of her pack she learns about an academy that can teach you to use magic. This book has mystery around Nyx and the war with the werebears.

Well that’s certainly the cliffhanger that haunts…
This book is…different. It’s not exactly what I thought it would be like.Nyx is like the wonderball…there’s a surprise inside! What that surprise is, well, no one knows but you can certainly guess. That last little/huge detail about Atlas throws the vision I had created of him off. He is definitely not my favorite after that, but I’m still looking forward to see what happens now and how this affects his and Nyx’s ‘fake’ relationship. This is most certainly an interesting and mysterious read. I’m for it!

ok
Well there’s the usual thrill of going to an academy. Story kinda went vrooommm straight to the school and learning to do stuff. Bad girl is kinda bleh. I feel like you get tired of the trope or get obsessed with these Barbie type mean girls and it’s a hard no for me. Girl didn’t have anything respectable about her character except wanting more female roles in the packs. So I’ll sorta withhold judgment until later.Something felt like it was missing, and I’m not sure what. It just felt overall stagnant. Or maybe I’ve just read so many books like this by this point that I’m starting to get a rhythm and can now tell when something doesn’t fit the mold. In this case, it was okay. I think it’s funny that it can have like no serious sexual tension and then boom: clitorises and naughty stuff. So… yes lol it was hot but still. I think the book gave me a lot of the usual points people look for with these kinds of things and I got exactly what I wanted: a thrill. I think as a story itself, it could’ve built up more in places without the danger of info dumping. I think it did minimum effort like with the romance or building up a legit reason for anyone to dig anything about another person.Overall okay.

Binge read worthy!
After an unlucky run of annoying unimaginative shifter Kindle Unlimited books by other authors, I had the good fortune of stumbling upon Luna Wolf by G. Bailey/Regan Rosewood. I devoured book 1 in one sitting. I am looking forward to books 2 and 3. I also plan to read other books by this pair of authors.

Different
Good plot. Intrigue til the end. Atlas is alpha yummy. Nyx is ok. She can be such a weakling and push over but somehow still likeable. I'd like to continue but i didn't realize this story includes angels so.... Ill probably bail.

lots of potential
This book has lots of potential. The characters are interesting and so is the story line but each scene and plot point is so truncated that we do not get enough time as readers to truly grasp how important a moment might be. When Atlas says something hurtful to Nyx, we see her respond in anger but then we don’t get to see her actually wallow in her anger or how that affects their relationship. Likewise, a big reveal happens near the end and instead of lingering to explore their emotions or an actual argument the scene just ends. This style of plotting makes it confusing for timing, too. Because everything is so truncated, it’s hard to imagine that so much can happen in such little time. Lingering more on important moments and truly exploring emotions other than her caring for Atlas would go a long way. Because of this, I am not entirely sure I’ll be reading the next book. I want to because the concept is interesting but it bums me out that the plot execution is so rushed.

Wow
This author likes to throw in a few crazy twists. It is a good quick read that I enjoyed. I would like to find out more about Nyx and Atlas.

a cliffhanger with a bang
So far this series has started out amazing, your sucked straight into the story.I love how the plot has its own uniqueness especially with the types of shifters who are at war and demons and dark magic are involved, it makes it a story worth reading and has you glued to your seat or where ever you find yourself reading it.These shifters still have beliefs from hundreds of years ago and still keep their traditions, it’s pretty sad for the shifters who are punished and exiled for standing up to what you believe in or falling in love with a human. So with our unique FMC who has tough skin, can take a bit of bullying with a pinch of salt, even with her own problems she doesn’t give up which I absolutely love. It’s a huge must read from me, I’m so excited to start book 2 😜

Verdict still out
This started off so well with great word building and you were thrown into the plight of Nyx and really felt for her and how she was viewed by the pack. The concept of the academy for rejects is a novel idea and I was hoping for great things. This is where it started to fall apart a bit, the fake girlfriend was way too quick to happen, there was inconsistency with Nyx having had a human kiss, but then it's implied she's had a few human males. Then the plot gets weird, Tobias and Ivy you think more would be in the thick of things and why are the demons not fighting more? There is sex thrown in for good measure. But the ending is a disappointment, you'd think after Tobias's revelation of Nyx is that in love with Atlas she'd hear him out. Sorry but not enough to make me want to read the next one

Meh
It's alright. Not the greatest story of It's type, but fairly readable. Stuttering in some places. 2 extremely quick, yet incredibly awkward sex scenes, but meh, whatever. I do think I'll give the next one a go and see where its heading.

okay..
I feel like this story could have been so much more! It was on okay read. A bit predictable. It started off great building the story then it felt quite rushed. I wish there had been more depth to it, more angst, more world building and just a bit more of something…But… it was an alright read.
