Still running strong years later.
I work professionally as a commercial IP surveillance installer. I installed two of these for a customer and they have been running flawlessly for over three years. They are mounted outdoors inside an enclosure. Even in the punishing Texas heat and sun they haven't failed once. Before finding these I used Antaira switches, but they are quite a bit more expensive. This TRENDnet switch is just as good and a much lower price. If TRENDnet is looking at this review, you guys should make your own branded power supply to be recommended with this product.

Works as Expected
Installed in attic, where temperatures are extreme. After 3 months, still working great.

Limited mounting options and no power supply, but functional
First off, if you need an industrial grade switch, you know your options are limited to A) cheap generics with unknown build quality and warranty or B) big name switches with big name price tags. This was a good compromise between the two: lifetime warranty from a known vendor at a reasonable price. Yes, it's more expensive than a 6-port gigabit desktop switch, but it includes PoE, SFP, redundant power inputs, an alarm contact, and industrial temperature ratings. The last was important to my application, as I have this mounted in a fiberglass enclosure that will be in the sun with up to 115° f ambient temperature (and probably 150° in the enclosure). As this doesn't come with it's own power supply, you need to feed it with an appropriate 48vdc external transformer or PSU. I chose to pair it with the Meanwell SDR-120-48 which is also din-mountable and can be wired to an on/off toggle switch if desired.A few caveats: I had originally intended on installing it flush with the back of the enclosure using the wall mount ears to save space, but they can only be oriented with the switch protruding out from the wall, not hugging it. This is probably to ensure sufficient airspace around it to prevent overheating, but it's not obvious until you get it so plan accordingly. I ended up getting a deeper box and used the din rails to mount it instead. This works, but the din mounting clip is absolutely terrible, and it is extremely difficult to get on and off again. Once on it's secure, but a spring-mounted clip like the Meanwell has would have been much better.Other than that, as long as it survives the summer heat I'm sure this will meet my needs for a long time. Hopefully I won't need to use it, but the lifetime manufacturer's warranty will be there in case I do.
