Redundant and vague
A lot of problems with 'management' style books is that they sound like they're written by a middle manager - a whole lot of talk without any real direction or answers. This is the case with this book. Redundant, and seemingly written to make the book longer than what it needs to be, you'll be looking for answers to the questions in the back of the chapters and not find any concrete information. Of course, if they took out the redundant information, the book would be even smaller and seem like less of a value.

Needed It For Class
Works like a charm. I am a happy customer. The product does what it is intended to do. I would recommend this to others.

Excellent Academic Review of MIS Concepts
While this book is not intended for the seasoned Applications manager, it's a wonderful guide on the common topics of MIS, including SOA, ERP, CRM, and the dozens of other areas you'll be navigating as an IS manager. I found this book to be an easy read, and as a new MIS manager who once specialized in a single area, it got me up to speed with with topics such as ERP, Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and supply chain management basics.

Using for class
My and other students problems with this book is the volume of filler information is enormous. You'll spend more time sifting through useless sections than you would normally care to.
