It's so nice to enjoy cherries without biting into a pit! This handy little tool gets the pit out, clean and easy. I find it works better putting the cherry on sideways rather than upright. (You can pull off the stem with the cherry in the device that way, rather than pulling off the stems separately.) Pits come out every time. Well made. Easy to operate, safe enough for a child to use, washes well, dishwasher safe. Quick work. I cleaned a pound of cherries in less than 10 minutes, and my hands aren't very strong. Great price!

With kitchen drawer space at a premium, I really couldn't imagine purchasing something so one-use like a cherry pitter. But by golly, after my cherry tree went absolutely bonkers and I had more cherries than I'd ever imagined I would at a single time, this silly device ended up being the unexpected MVP of the summer. Yes, you can use a water bottle and a straw to pit a cherry, but you definitely won't be pitting them with the speed and finesse of this little tool. All you need to do is put the cherry in the gadget and then give it a little squeeze. Pits shoot out of the bottom and you're good to cook, bake, freeze, or eat those cherries as is - pits excluded. There's no accidental bending of the bottle (if you used a water bottle like I did), no spray of cherry juice on your shirt or all over the kitchen counter, and it's so easy to use that you can set the kids on the pitting task and they'll likely have a blast. The cherry pitter is easy to clean and after repeated use through multiple colanders full of cherries, this seriously made me question why I suffered with a silly bottle and straw for so long. At ~$12 for this ingenious little gadget, just buy it if you have a cherry tree and think that a straw and bottle pitter is a good idea. It's not and this thing saves so much time and effort that you'll question why you didn't buy it sooner.

This tool is amazing! It's so simple to use, cleans really well and has a lock feature at the top of the handle. I have been able to use it several times. It's very fast to pit a bag of cherries for immediate use or freezing. Also, I have realized that I can store pitted cherries in a simple syrup and use instead of maraschino cherries that are full of toxic red dye. I gave four out as gifts since my initial purchase. :)

As far as cherry pitters go, this is a good one for single pitting. Got stuck on a few cherries and needed extra pull to get back in up position, but this was not a common occurance. Definitly got the job done in a timely fashion. Easy to use, easy to clean. Good sturdy weight and quality. Fit well and comfortably in the hand. For larger bulk canning i will be getting a multi pitter next time, but no real conplaints except rare occasional sticking.

product is great. i noticed some comments saying how much it splatters— i found that when you hold the lever with your dominant hand, and use your other hand to hold the front (when the cherry goes) while you close it, it gives off hardly any spatter. it mutes the vibration. no splatter. easily gets rid of pit, fast and saves time, safe to use. 100% worth the money.

This thing works great! So much faster than trying to manually dig a cherry pit out with a paring knife. I picked 8 quarts of cherries to freeze last weekend and this tool made removing the pits a breeze. If the pit is not centered in the cherry it may not remove it, but I ended up having very few with that issue. Firm cherries work better than really soft ones. It’s lightweight, very easy to use, and dishwasher safe. Great gadget if you’re going to process a large number of cherries!

Serves the purpose. My son and daughter likes cherries. It's the most easiest way to remove the seed before giving it to them to prevent choking. Well made. Easy to operate.

Can spit the pits volently if pushed to hard otherwise it works very well.
