Quite and Powerful
Active Aqua Submersible Water Pump, 800 GPH, for my cold plunge tub, and it works perfectly. It efficiently circulates the water, maintaining a consistent temperature, and operates almost silently, which is a huge plus.Installation was easy, and the pump feels solid and reliable. The compact design fits well in my setup without taking up much space.Overall, I highly recommend this pump for anyone with a cold plunge tub. It’s quiet, powerful, and does the job excellently.

Cheap, long lasting, and works
Purchased in 2018, this has been in my outdoor pond for 5 years.Only this year, five years later, has it began to slow down and make a rattling noise. It's not moving as much water as it used to.I use this for a reverse flow (up flow) biofilter with appx 24" head pumping through 15 layers of green scrub pads in a ceramic flower pot (an EXCELLENT way to hide a DIY filter, BTW)Highly recommended for a CHEAP low head / low pressure / high flow pump

Wimpy Inefficient Pump
I have a bamboo fountain that needs 2 feet of lift and a fairly good stream of water. To see which one would work better, I bought these pumps at the same time:Hydrofarm AAPW160 (the pump on this page),EcoPlus Submersible Pump - 66 gph,EcoPlus Submersible Pump - 132 gph - 9W andPonicsPump PP120, 120 GPH.When this Hydrofarm AAPW160 pump arrived, the pump did not look anything like the pump you see pictured above... it appears much CHEAPER plus I really don't like to be shown one thing and sold another. But that is not the worst of it.After hooking it up to the fountain, it worked well enough. I checked the wattage with a P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor I recently bought and the wattage checked out to be 9.5 watts just as the specs stated. However...Next I hooked up the PonicsPump PP120, supposedly a smaller pump... but low and behold, this PonicsPump put out more water with 37% less electricity!!! Again, I checked the wattage with my "Kill A Watt" meter and it checked out to be 6 watts just as they stated. As an added plus, the PonicsPump PP120 cost less than the Hydrofarm AAPW160. Needless to say, I kept this one and returned all the others; and ordered 3 more PonicsPump PP120s.Oh, forgot the mention, the EcoPlus 66 would not even produce a trickle at 2' and the EcoPlus 132 gph pumped about 60% less than the Hydrofarm AAPW160 ... but the "Kill A Watt" meter showed an amazing high 26.5 Watts. Surely would recommend avoiding the extremely inefficient EcoPlus pumps.

A Little Tweaking BAM!
The media could not be loaded. This brand has a good name so I gave it a chance, sad that I was let down. I bought 3 160gph systems, I've tried all three on a double stacked 7 gallon tote hydroponics system. I first thought maybe I didn't clean out everything so might be clogged, took it all apart and detailed it. Still the same results but I will try one more move and return the pumps for a bigger gph to see if its that or the pumps just not up to par as the name. I will update this review following the test of different gph size pump.*UPDATE*So, did some tweaking on the hydroponic system, used some plumbers tape and bam its working. Found out it wasn't particularly the pump itself but the fittings where not closed off enough. I used plumbers tape and sealed off the open connection and the pressure just kicked in and all sprayers are working. I highly recommend buying these pumps!

Great submersible pump for aquaponics and hydroponics
Great little pump. Works well in my small aquaponics system. Just remove the filter to maintain flow and chop up fish waste for mineralization in media beds. This pump was "overkill" for my original project, but it ended up working out well as my system expanded. Since installing it in my aquaponics system, it has also been used in a hydroponic reservoir to deliver water to NFT channels and a Dutch "Bato" bucket system. This pump is coming up on a year of almost continuous use and is still pumping away. I will be buying a second one soon for a separate project. Be sure to measure your head hight and cross check the efficency on this pump with how much water you want to move at that measured height.Pros: curve chart (head and GPH) is accurateLong life with continuous usepretty quiet for its sizepowerful and great for the priceCons: cant think of any
