I bought this gem of a camera (Foscam R5) as an addition to four other Foscams I’ve been using for several years.The high quality of vision and features on the R5 (Micro SD slot/pan-tilting panoramic /two-way speaker/night vision/ remote alarm) makes me ask the question: “Why would anyone with a modem who leaves their house NOT want this camera for under $30.00?(I would buy this R5 Foscam just to watch myself as a reminder to keep on my diet! 😊)The installation should take less than two minutes. It’s very easy and you’re guided through each step.BEYOND exceptional customer service: A short synopsis…I ran into an issue that was MY fault, not Foscams’. I sent a series of five emails to customer service. Each email was personally answered within the hour by Mandy in customer service. (Note: I’m a night owl, so there is a time difference of about 13 hours ahead for CST.) Each email from Mandy was highly courteous, personable, explained every aspect of the R5 camera and the steps of installation. I finally noticed (through Mandy’s patience) I was entering my modem key incorrectly. Duh.)A great value, a wonderful camera and par excellence in customer service. One couldn’t ask for more.Note: Camera lens is tilted up to show Micro SD Slot and Reset button.

Excellent simple camera with pan & tilt, my 5th Foscam camera over the years. This is a smaller, more attractive design than some of the earlier cameras, at a very affordable price. The resolution is incredible, pushing 5 megapixels. I only purchase security cameras with pan & tilt because it's very useful to be able to remotely control the angle and get a better view of areas across a larger area. Setup was simple with the Foscam iPhone app, I just had to scan the QR code on the bottom of the camera and then it generates a QR code that displayed on my iPhone, and I had to hold my phone in front of the camera's view. The Foscam recognizes this QR code and connects to wifi.This camera is powered over Micro USB, which is incredibly convenient. I can power it from a multiple port USB power adapter (that is sufficiently powerful) and avoid requiring an additional power brick. It does not have an Ethernet port so it must be used exclusively with WiFi, which I think is the most common use case for many people. A USB cable and power adapter is included as well.The design of this camera is very simple and clean, it blends in a bit better than some other designs and also includes night time infrared lighting. I've attached a well lit and a darkness photo taken from my desk with the camera. I'm looking forward to replacing one of my older cameras with this and enjoying the higher resolution imagery.

This R5 is much faster than previous models, sound is very clear, the image quality was improved a lot compared to previous models.This camera rotates 360 degrees, I can monitor an entire room by placing anywhere.The connectivity between the App and the camera was improved as well, I access the camera almost without delay.One of the best things is that the only connection is a micro usb, there is no need for a special charger.The initial pairing was super easy as I just scanned the QR on the bottom of the camera and then I generated a QR code with my phone which was read by the camera, in less than 30 seconds my camera was online.For wall mounting now there is no need for a bracket which looks horrible, the camera mounts on a small piece that can be screwed into the wall.I was testing the motion detector and works really well.I am glad I choose this brand few years ago, I have all my cameras in only one App.Planning to buy few more.

I bought this camera asuming this would be better than my other 3 cameras with different brands. All of which have been easy to set up. don't get me wrong the quality of video is great as well as night vision but I have had this camera for 4 months and still haven't been able to record ANYTHING in my SD card. I have set it up at least 3 times and reset it multiple times also and nothing. It only recorded when it was the free cloud trial, after that never again. So What is this camera for if I can't record anything??? Great product but terrible software set up that doesn't work. All my other cameras have been easy to set up and had no problems. Never buying another one again.UPDATE: They contacted me and offered no solution except buy a new memory card which I had already bought 2 and I am still in the same predicament. NO SOLUTION. Terrible customer service. (customer service is not just replying to a negative comment buy follow through until one resolves his issues) I guess not
