Simple, easy to install, quick programing and works as required

Good amount of settings and easy to use timer. Our old one of 25 years had broken, so I like this was actually easier to use and program all the settings. My parents even thought it was easier to use than the old one. Our contractor put this in and he said it was good quality and easy to program.

Easy to use,easy to install

Relatively easy to install but did have a pro electrician check unit due to failure to turn on . (Loose wire.. our fault) unit works well but the digital display is difficult to read. I need to use a flashlight and magnifying glass!! Once programmed no problems.Excellent customer service and support! Hope this one last as long as my old non digital unit!

I found nothing to dislike about the unit. It does exactly what it's advertised to do. My general handyman installed it in about 20 minutes, fitting it to an existing system whose control had died. Very, very easy to program! Very flexible options in scheduling. My one complaint is against myself, not the unit. I wish I had gotten the one with the wi-fi remote, but was reluctant to spend the additional money, and it really wasn't that much! My old unit had a little carry-around remote and that is unbelievably handy and convenient. This new unit does not, but there is a Rainbird model that does, and I wish I had bought it. Without it, I have to go outside to the box whenever I want to water just a particular zone, or run an unscheduled program. Also, to trouble-shoot the sprinkler heads - see who is running as it should, and who needs adjustment, the remote let me stand out in the yard and turn zones on and off, without having to return to the control box each time. With 12 zones to check, that feature was very handy. It was also handy for watering the neighbor's cat when he would come in my yard seeking baby birds or newborn squirrels to devour. Didn't hurt him, but sure destroyed his dignity and sent him flying home! (Neighbor knew I did it, and thought it was hilarious.)

I purchased this item in 2020. In 2022, after working flawlessly for more than a year, it unexpectedly stopped sending electricity to the zones in my system precisely after I had plugged parts of my lawn and needed watering regularly. I did the troubleshooting and used online resources initially without success. So, I called Rainbird, expecting the usual recordings, run around, etc. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did Rainbird have online support, but they have actual HUMAN BEINGS who are intelligent and helpful. On the first call it started raining outside. The agent advised calling after it stopped raining. So I did. The second agent was polite, but unfortunately she could not solve the problem. So they were going to send me an entirely new unit. GREAT. I then received a call from a "supervisor" who identified himself as Angel. He went through every item on the controller, literally EVERYTHING. When he discovered I had no wires hooked into the white outlets for power, he said the controller could not have been working. But it DID for more than a year. He suggested I disconnect the white wires I had plugged into the rain sensor and place them into the white holes. I did so, and the controller again began working perfectly. I would estimate I took up about a half hour or more of time and frankly part of the problem was my attitude. The product is EASY to install, works flawlessly when hooked up correctly and for the price the customer support is unbelievable. Rainbird, I am a satisfied customer and will continue to buy your products.

Controller was very affordable and installed with little effort. Programming is a little more effort than it seems like it should have been. If I were to purchase again I would get a unit with wifi so I could use my phone or laptop to program and control. But, really, how often do you need to program your sprinkler controller? One big tip, others complained about having to set the date and time for each zone. Then, if you change the length of time on a lower numbered zone, you had to manually change the start time for all the following zones. Not true. Set all the zones for the same exact start time and the zones will run sequentially regardless of watering time. About 3 months in and everything works great. Would 100% purchase again.

Much easier to program than orbits. And each valve can be programmed completely on its own. With an orbit you are forced into one of three programs.

I needed a replacement controller for my 11 zone system so buying this 12 zone controller was perfect, It replaced a previous 18 year RainBird controller. No need to buy two 6 zone system so I saved a lot of money. Very easy to install, program multiple start times, zones and increase/decrease watering times based on weather/season. Highly recommend this inexpensive controller that is basic without any bells and whistles and does the job. What helped me decide on this controller is that I bought it on sale and 2 day delivery.

The product quality shows as soon as you open the package, and as the ad states you really don't need the instructions, the setup is that easy, and what else can I say, it's Rainbird!!

This is a simple and easy to wire up and program unit. This Rainbird unit does not have Wifi capability, but I am very content without it. Simple to change program times and very intuitive. Once you set this Bird up, you will never have to look at instructions again. That simple.

Little strange for programming, but it works

Excellent value....bought it to replace an old Hunter controller. Easy to install and program. It does everything I need it to do.
