That is correct. Air only for the lettered balloons. The package does provide string to create the balloon banner as well as glue dots if you want to stick them onto a backdrop

We blew them up by mouth . Didn't take long and then hung them on the wall. Her birthday was 12/31 and they are still up on the wall because well its a pandemic and they brought her joy so up they stayed:)
