Perpetuates the myth of the omniscient manager
This book offers a hierarchical top-down and destructive management philosophy. It's out of sync with agile principles and 'unbossing' leadership styles. I've personally witnessed the destruction of a highly skilled and effective self-organizing technical leadership team after the new boss read this book and adopted its harsh one-way principles. Steve Jobs said “It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” This book recommends you just make them do it your way.
