Exceptional 3D Printer
I originally started off with the 1st generation Cetus Extended printer after hearing about their successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2016. I was initially hesitant until I found out that Cetus3d is a subsidiary of Tiertime, who has been making 3D printers since 2003. The 1st generation had some flaws but printed decent, especially with their proprietary software “Cetus3d” which is now known as “Up Studio”. They made importing G-Code available so I later used Simplify3d and Cura with great results. The greatest thing about this company is their customer support. Hands down one of the best I’ve dealt with any product. I say this because my 1st gen died about 4 months later and well, Cetus3d sent me a new replacement free of charge without having to return the original. My 1st gen is still running over 2 years later. My experience with their support has been excellent up until today. With this said, I went ahead and purchased the MK3. The overall build quality is amazing. The linear rails provide accurate movement and the hotend design allows you to easily switch between the provided 0.2mm, 0.4mm, and 0.6mm nozzles. This will give you either very high detail to fast prints. The extruder design has been upgraded along with all the wiring. Unlike Bowden style extruders, this Cetus uses a direct drive so it will have an advantage printing flexible filament. Also, the buildplate on the MK3 uses the same magical coating as the previous generations. You'll have to use a raft, but the prints just stick and you'll never have to worry about them lifting.Assembly and starting the first print took me less than 20 minutes. I was amazed at the dimensional accuracy of this first print. I created a 20mm hollow cube in Fusion360 and the printer was accurate up to 19.93mm where one side was 19.68mm. This has been consistent 3 weeks later where I’ve put over 2kg of TIANSE PLA/Wood PLA filament through it. I printed the Baby Groot model which has some high details and the quality was exceptional. I’ve had no problems with over or under extrusion, heating, separating, etc. Bridging could be improved but I have no complaints. Comparing it with the 1st gen, the improvements can definitely be seen in the print quality. As far as the slicing software, I continue to use it since it’s very simple to use and I've had no issues getting quality prints. I've noticed it frequently receives updates which are a plus.My favorite feature about this printer is the form factor. Comparing it to other Cartesian style printers, the Cetus’ has a very small footprint. Along with wireless printing, easy to use software, and accessibility for upgrades, I definitely recommend the MKIII Extended.

Easy set up and use
After looking at different printer designs I liked the Cetus MK3 extended the best. The components were of great quality (stainless steel) I was impressed with the packaging and the ease of printer assembly. It took just 21 minutes to assemble the printer. The Quick Start Guide that came with the printer had great photos on how to assemble the MK3. The process of assembly of the printer, download of the printer software and printing my first object was easy for me. The print quality of the object I printed was very nice. I would highly recommend the purchase of this printer.SetupThe setup was easy, good directions and photos in the Quick Start Guide. All the tools needed are provided with the printer to complete the setup. There are some great YouTube videos on setting up that you can watch as well if you need a little help.UseVery easy to use. Once the software was downloaded it was easy to figure out and use. I leveled the bed, loaded filament and printed what I call a Glue Caddy to keep my modelling glue bottle from being knocked over. Then I printed a Modelling Tool Tray to hold my most used modelling tools. They came out great. I am very impressed.Bsinglton

Cetus MK3 Add-on Pack
This printer really sucks. Documentation is non existent. You have to deal with support from China and they don't speak/write decent English.Whatever you do don't buy the "Cetus MK3 Add-on Pack". It comes with 0 (zero instructions) for assemble. No manual no nothing. Finding how to install it on the company's web site is a joke.End of the day--buy another printer with some support.Hamp Stevens

Can not get past the software!
It seems solid out of the box. It was a pain to assemble but that's true for any of the open source printers. Manual both print and website was completely useless. I had to back trace all the wire myself to figure out what the hell they were trying to explain in every one of the instruction steps. The lack of USB drive is a negative. The biggest problem is the UpStudio Software. Seemed simple enough, create an account and they send you a link to activate the software features. PROBLEM never sent the link to my email! Dead in the water at step 1. Created multiple acct with different email providers, nothing! Problem is not on my end. Wasted an entire work day on this, not happy! So if you are looking for a neat paper weight get this printer. If you are an expert in the opensource community, then you already know more than me. Just wanted something i could use to create small prototype parts on my desk has now turned into a week long project just to get working that i don't have time for.If you count the value of the time i wasted on this machine i could have bought a name brand printer ready out of the box. Time is money!

Bonne petite imprimante

Excellent 3d Printer ( The very best for a beginner )
I cant say enough good things about this printer. First of all its extremely compact, easily fitting on a short shelf or at the edge of a desk, and it comes for the most part pre assembled, requiring only minor fastening of screws and attaching of cables. Set up shouldnt take more than 40 mins, or 20 once you ve done it a few times. Which is my second point, I have disassembled and reassembled this printer 2 times, both times it travelled with me on an airplane, and the printing quality was not affected whatsoever, so you can trust in that this is a solid printer made to last. Printing quality itself is superb, especially for the price. In my proffensial environment I operate a 2500 dollar FDM printer, that supposedly cost that much because it needed no tuning, yet this machine I bought for my self runs laps around it, and with 0 tuning as well. The slicing software that comes with it is also exceptional, especially for a beginner, as for the most part you just insert your STL files, autoposition, and press print, without the need to mess with a million different settings ( like you need to with Cura or Slice3D). The supports are extremely easy to remove, and leave no marks behind. The printing bed is also a great feature of this printer. None of the typical glass bed nonsense, that require heated pads, glue, blue tape and praying to god to stick to. Its made of hard metal with some short of abbrasive texturing done on top, and in my cold room I have gotten 100% adhesion. The bed leveling is also extremely easy, you do it through the slicing software using a piece of paper, and once done you do not need to fiddle with knobs or whatever else again. Noise wise, while definately audible, I for one do not mind it, and can easily sleep with the printer printing right beside my bed on my desk. The only real drawback I can think of when compared to other printers is that it requires a connection to a PC to operate as it has no onboard user interface. This can be done either via a usb connection or over wifi, though I have not been able to make the wifi connection to work even after trying. All in all, this printer is honestly amazing, especially for the mid price range. If you are a beginner with 3D printing save yourself the hustle and pain of tinkering for days or weeks with the cheapo ender 3 ripp offs you find here, and go for something that will work perfectly straight out of the box, like this.
