I have had some back pain for a few weeks now and been to the physio three times. One of my friends suggested that I should get a brace and as I am horizontally challenged I required a plus sized brace. I stumbled on Braceability's web site and did some research. Checked reviews. Looked at a few YouTube videos. I even emailed Janet from their customer service center which was super friendly and advised to get the proper size, so please measure your waist size before ordering. After I was convinced and as I lived in Europe and being a bit more difficult to place an order, I decided to embark the ordering adventure. I placed the order. I ordered it on the Sunday from the USA and it was to arrive about 10 days hence. It arrived in Portugal three days later on the Wednesday. In fact, I wasn't even home when the package arrived when I got the call. Anyhow I got home and had to try it on. it felt nice and snug. The pain didn't go straight away. But in all honesty it helped to soothe the pain and manage it so much better. So thank you Braceability for a great product. This really helps me and supports my back 100%. 4 days later and I am dealing with with my back pain so much better and your product is such a God-sent. Thank you guys

Great brace! I suffer from lower back pain due to obesity, so I was unable to be active in an effort to lose weight because of my back pain (catch 22). I wear this when walking and dancing and it is pretty comfortable. I gave it only 4 stars because the aluminum stays can poke into your back and be uncomfortable. I recommend wearing a tank top underneath. Also, I did follow others advice on here as far as sizing. The widest part of my waist is 71 and according to the size chart I should have bought a 6xl. After reading the reviews and seeing it "ran big" I got the 5xl and it fits perfectly.

It was so dirty. I don't know what this stain is, but I would like a refund. I am so disappointed.

Update 11/17/2016: After trying on the same brace two sizes smaller, I did immediately notice a better-feeling fit. However, the placement and/or length of the loop or pile strip for fastening the hook strip on the tensions straps is still insufficient for any noticeable amount of tension. Those really need to be extended for greater tension. That said, I still did not notice any great deal of support from the stays. While wearing the brace as tightly as I could wrap it, I walked around for a little under 10 minutes and then I started to feel my lower back muscles ache. It was only when I revisited the BraceAbility website to double-check the sizing chart, I realized this may be the incorrect brace for my particular issue. BraceAbility does make another brace specifically for lower back support and its largest size happens to match that of the regular back brace I was trying on today, so I am returning the braces I received today and ordering the Bariatric Low Back Support Belt instead. Hopefully, this will better meet the support needs I have. I am also raising the rating on this brace by a star. I still believe the design can be improved, but it's unfair for me to rate it poorly if indeed it's the wrong brace for what I need. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original review: I followed the sizing guidelines provided on BraceAbility's own website for this brace and once I received the size I ordered, it fit too loosely to provide any support to my lower back area. The areas along the length of the brace and tightening straps where the velcro can be secured are sparse and do not allow for much variable adjustment. After reading so many other reviews on here about poor fit, I'm guessing either the sizing methodology is flawed or the expectations for support on the part of the end-users are misunderstood by the manufacturer. Speaking for myself, I need the ability to fit the brace tightly so the support it provides is essentially the equivalent of me leaning against a wall to take the strain off my lower back area. The size I ordered, per the sizing chart from the manufacturer, doesn't come close to providing any noticeable support. I will be returning it and have ordered both of the next two sizes down in an effort to save time in finding the right fit. Hopefully one of them works as expected. If I can find the right size and it provides the level of support I'm expecting, I will update the product review and rating.

I was very skeptical at first. It was so comfortable I wasn't sure it was even supporting anything. But I left it on for an hour or so, and when I took it off I immediately felt the pressure on my lower back again. It irritates my bare skin, so I have to wear an extra layer of clothing to conceal it beneath my clothing, but it is very concealable. It flexes and moves with you. I have rather robust hips, and it accommodates them quite nicely. I only rarely have to adjust the brace and slide it back down into place. And even then, it's only by an inch or so. As opposed to the complete slide up to my chest that my old one would do. I am a 37 year old 5' 7" 250 lb woman with grade 3 spondylolesthesis. This product has helped my back pain greatly! Update* 3 years later. I am down to 230lbs, and still use this whenever my back is hurting. It is still my most comfortable back brace.

This back brace covers most of your back. but with the meatal that is in it you will need layers between you n it. It is made very well, helps with my back pain by keeping me strait upright in my chair. Note you may not be able to wear this in the summertime, because of the meatal in it. But hopefully you can have most of the bad sitting problems solved. But if you work in AC at a desk all day put some padding between you and it and wear it, just not in the heat.
