Great Sim
The realism is awesome, I like all the steps you have to go through just to start the engine. Wish there was more routes to explore. You can't wonder too far from the tracks either. But still a great sim.

the game is pretty limited on the number of scenarios offered--mostly mainline freight
I give it only 3 stars for a few reasons. For starters, the game is pretty limited on the number of scenarios offered--mostly mainline freight, no locals, industrial switching, and very little yard work activities. They finally updated the game and added an older CSX paint scheme for the 3 locomotives you get to choose from. Something I do like about this over standard Train Sim is that you are able to walk around and change locomotives and such. I also like the view which enables me to place myself as if I was standing on the steps of an engine or hanging onto the side of a railcar. It is really cool and adds to the realness of things like switching cars around a yard. My major complaint is that unlike Train Sim there is no workshop with extra scenarios made by fellow gamers nor do I have the ability to edit or create anything. I find many of the best gameplay scenarios in Train Sim are not provided by the official makers, rather, they are the freeware that is available in the steam workshop. It seems like the enthusiasm of the train buffs shines through because often times they seem to strive to make their scenarios very prototypical. I'll admit, with TS the downloadable content that you have to buy, such as routes and locomotives, can add up, but if you grab something here and there you build up a pretty big roster and choices of routes before you know it (there are also some free routes in the workshop). This game could be AWESOME if only it wasn't so narrowed down to one single route with one single railroad--even all the freight cars.

Waste of money
Would have been nice to know that you need to use internet for this game. I had to process 2 different updates before I could even install the game. I had to take the computer to work because we don't have internet (we can't get it where we live). My son tried launching the game when I brought his computer home and he couldn't play because it wasn't connected to the internet. We have Farming Simulator and that does not need to be connected to the internet to play.

Disappointed Overall
They said it was a step into the future, and the graphics were second to none, blah blah blah, so I buy it, and am quite disappointed in that very aspect of it. It's no better at all than the one I've been playing with the exception of details in the engine compartment, and a couple other things, but that's it. No big deal. I was led to believe the graphics would be really great but as I stated, was let down. AND... it was a lot more expensive than its competitor... So, there ya go. There's my two cents. Thee ya. 😊

Should specify that you need at least 16GB ram to run this game, 8 will not do.

Fantastic game
I play TSW on Xbox one and decided to buy CSX heavy haul for the PC as this is not available for XB1. Just as inthralling on the PC as it is on XB1

If you want to waste your time and money - go ahead
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. The game would not install from the DVD. Insisted on connecting me to Steam, refusing to install even after updating. If you want to waste your time and money - go ahead. What a crock of ****!
