My husband absolutely loves this product! It gives a firm hold without feeling stiff or greasy, and the scent is great without being overpowering. Works the way you’d expect, smells good and it’s not a chemical experiment your putting in your hair. It’s seriously the best. Known, simple ingredients. Smells good. Yup, seems pricey compared to others but it’s worth it and it seems to last awhile.

Amazing Scent and Crazy Strong hold. Not greasy or sticky feeling to it. Greate matte look and easily washed out with just warm water. Hair feels moisturized after too! A little goes a long way so the price is honestly worth it. It will last forever. Only reason for 4 stars is it sets super quick some workability can be a struggle if you’re not quick

This product is pretty good quality, just like most clays. Im usually a fan of clay but this one missed the mark for me with the hold and look, almost makes your hair frizzy and is more difficult to style. Because of this, it’s unusable for me. I like a clean look that other clays give, not frizzy. This company has the market cornered with having minimal ingredients, so this product is wildly overpriced for 2oz.

This is the perfect hair clay for me. Isn’t greasy at all. Goes on easily and washed out easily. The hold is firm but not hard, feels natural. And the ingredients are good which was a big selling point for me.

*Amazon Issue* I like Johnny Slicks products but Amazon consistently mixes up the scents of this item, and it’s wrong virtually every delivery. I might order original and they will send rugged (which smells fine, but it’s a more powerful scent) Other times I’ve ordered formula 49 clay and I’ve received the oil based pomade which is very different than formula 49 The formula 49 is a good product just be prepared for a mystery box in terms of scent. You might get the wrong item which is an Amazon problem not Johnny slicks which is a local NC company that makes good products Order direct from Johnny slicks if you are concerned about receiving the right scent that you paid for. Order from Amazon if you need next day delivery for free before a trip or in a pinch for hair product. Just my 2 cents
