Highly recommend!
The only soap that has ever worked for my skin! I've dealt with severe acne since a teenager, using everything from accutane, several prescriptions such as tetracycline and nearly every soap you can find in stores and nothing worked. I met my girlfriend in 2017 and she introduce me to this brand and I have not used anything else since. It is effective, lasts a long time, and shows results nearly same day! Yes, it is STRONG, and they specifically state not to use directly on face as there are charred plantains to produce the natural lye and it can scratch you if you attempt to scrub too hard with it. I still lightly apply it to my face but mainly use my beard to create suds and let my face scrubber do the rest of the work. I highly suggest applying some witch hazel with a cotton round and then finish with a moisturizer for a full face cleanse that will leave you feeling amazing. We have only purchased 4 of these blocks since 2018 and it has been more than enough. We've given heaps to friends & family and they all love it. You also get a TON so the price it perfect and beats anything you can buy in any box store.

African Black Soap
"I love this African Black Soap! It cleans my skin really well without drying it out. It helped improve my acne and leaves my face feeling fresh and smooth. A little goes a long way, and it smells natural and clean. Highly recommend!"

Great price, great soap, great skin
I originally chose it because of the ingredients. I am an avid label reader and I seriously study the labels of everything I buy. I was using another brand before buying yours but it got expensive because unlike your company, they didn't offer a reasonable price for bulk purchases. I love black soap and use it regularly so I go through those little one pound bars quite fast. Anyway I liked that you sell a 5 lb block at an economical price. This saves me time and money and I love that I can cut it into my own shapes and sizes. The soap itself is wonderful as I expected from authentic black soap. It lathers well and cleans my skin without drying it out. I feel clean and fresh after using this soap and I like the fresh natural smell it leaves me with. I hate fake perfume smells of commercially manufactured soaps. After using only African black soap for over a year I definitely notice that my skin is more even toned and glowing and definitely better conditioned. I dobt notice the dry patches or get the ashyness I used to get when I used commercially made perfumed soaps and body washes loaded full of chemicals. I don't have to moisturize as much even though I do like to finish off my skin care regime with some pure extra virgin coconut oil, which I also like to see as an ingredient in the soap. I like this soap and will definitely buy it again as long as I can continue to get this great soap at a bargained price for larger quantities and they keep the ingredients true.

Great soap, gets soft too quickly
So I recently purchased this African Black soap with the hopes of improving my mild cystic acne. And I can admit it has majorly improved in about two weeks! There has been less cystic acne. And my skin feels great. I use unrefined Shea butter as my moisturizer because the soap is drying. Here’s my only issue...is that the soap is becoming super soft after only a few days. Even after I cut it into blocks, lather in hands (never put directly on face) the soap essentially turns to mush. It’s frustrating because I know I have to cut another block and it’s not lasting super long. While I like this soap I do believe it should last more than a week before I have to cut another block of it. I am considering buying another brand just to see if it happens with a different brand. Otherwise I would recommend the soap if you can get past the fact it doesn’t last as long.

The best face soap!
I LOVE this stuff!! I have incredibly dry skin - for almost a year now I haven’t been able to use any kind of soap on my face because it would over dry. You could often see the dry patches it was that bad. I was using make-up remover towelettes and miceller water, which was doing okay at hydrating but not great with taking off makeup, and it burned my eyes. I had heard of black African soap in several magazines and then looked for “ face soap for dry skin” and found this. I’m SO glad I ordered it!! It’s been a month and here’s what I can tell you: You’ll get a 1lb block that you can cut bars off of. As some people have noted, the bar will distentigrate quickly, but only if it’s routinely wet - I keep mine on a higher shelf in my shower and honestly in the 2.5 weeks since I got back from vacation it’s hardly changed size. Wet it to wash and then set it somewhere to dry. When I was on vacation, tiny shower spaces made it hard to avoid constant exposure to water from everyone showering - just keep it dry! Bars cut very easily with an old paring knife. My skin is in so much better shape it feels silky even without moisturizer, which I never thought I’d be able to say. I have typically had to use a hyluaronic acid serum AND and a niacimide serum, and sometimes a heavier night cream just to try and get moisture back in. I still like using a couple of them but no longer need any heavy creams and can often get away with just the niacimide. This stuff is worth every penny, I’ll definitely be reordering!

Im still in Disbelief That This Happened!
This is not a Review to bash all African Black Soaps. Im only giving my opinion of “Raw African Black Soap”. This is one Black Man’s Opinion. Getting straight into it. I use Dudu Osun as the black soap of choice. I swear by it due to the thorough clense I get on my face and body. I decided to switch it up and try the “Raw African Black Soap”. The first couple of days of using this soap was pretty good. It produced a nice lather on my rag, and I did not get that burning sensation that most black soaps give on my skin. However, I did not feel as clean as with the Dudu Osun. After the third day of use, something weird happened. I washed with the rag and felt it cut my skin. This was probably due to the plantain or hard ash breaking off into the rag. Immediately, skin irritation erupted . I felt the hairs on the right side of my stomach raise in disbelief. After letting the water and steam hit on my skin for a moment , irritation reduced and my skin returned to is normal state. I decided to stop using this black soap because of its abrasiveness. Everything RAW is not always a good thing. I appreciate the fact that it did make my skin feel soft and did not notice the burning sensation, but the plantain cuts like glass and I can’t have that. Dudu Osun is a main stay forever. It smells great it cleans thoroughly Its not abrasive It keeps my skin soft with its added ingredients Also the “lime +lemon” has anti bacterial properties where the “Raw African Black Soap” does not. Side Note: The burning sensation that everyone cries about is normal in most Black Soaps. If your not use to it, give it 5 secs and wash off. Your skin will have to build a tolerance for it.

YOU HAVE TO LET YOUR SKIN GET USE TO IT.
Before i used this i watched a youtube video about using this. I'll try an find the link and update my review but she goes over how to properly do it because it can mess up your skin due to it being so potent. I dont have sensitive skin really but I did was she directed and used it for about 5 seconds on my body in the shower and on my face. I felt really clean and will do another update but I did leave it on too long around my nose on and i think it dried it out a bit ( let it be known i have VERY oily skin. ) nothing a little moisturized couldn't do thought. Although that one spot is rough i can say this is some good soap for someone with acne. Highly recommend it. UPDATE : My skin has felt pretty clean for the last week. Only used it once until yesterday. My skin did feel a little ichy just from the dryness. I put lotion on last night after my shower and my skin feels AMAZING!!! I still have some acne but I can already notice a difference in redness and irritation. My skin feels smother and less flakey.
