Hello. The life of the battery is influenced by many factors and also varies depending on your settings, usage and working environment. The batteries last about two months in standby mode. With normal use, one full charge, the batteries last for about 1-4 weeks, depending on the working environment and the frequency of connection. With continuous triggering and one full charge, the batteries last about 15 hours in day mode or 9 hours in night mode with the IR lights switched on. The battery-power camera cannot support continuous recording, because that will drain the battery quickly. The battery-powered camera is a kind of motion detected camera, which means it will only record when there is a motion detected.

Q: How long is the cable from solar panel to camera

Hello. The cable length of the Reolink solar panel is 4 meters. If that's not long enough for you, you might want to consider purchasing our solar panel extension cable (4.5 meters / 15 feet). You can add up to 2 solar panel extension cables to the solar panel so that the total distance can reach up to 13 meters (43 feet).

After setup, the camera could still record to the SD card without wifi, but the other functions are limited. If you choose to connect your camera to Reolink Solar Panel with 4m connection cable (included), you will be able to get non-stop power for your camera all day and all night. To get non-stop power from Reolink Solar Panel, you need to mount the Solar Panel in a perfect angle and position to maximize sunlight exposure with no blocking and other obstacles.

Q: Just to confirm, this camera does not need to be plugged into a power socket to function? I can charge it, and place it wherever i want?
