"I will not be buying anymore SP products"
It is brand new and will not Pressurize. I went to the dealer's website and followed the instructions, oiled everything and had to get really ruff with the pump handle (just like they told me) to get the pump to break free. It finaly did and started working for about 3 hours, then it quit again. I worked another hour trying to get it going again, no luck. I drove 15 miles to the hardware store and bought a Stihl, it works great, much better than the SP and almost half the price! The SP Dealer is clearly aware of this problem, they say it is common for this to happen. The way I feel is if you are spending this kind of money the product should work. I am going to try and send it back.

In Need of Parts Supply
I've had this sprayer for 5 years and it stopped holding pressure this season. I use it exclusively with herbicide and don't always clean it after each use, sometimes leaving unused product inside. I took it apart and replaced three of the four O-rings. I could not find the large O-ring at the bottom from my usual sources. They were all to thick. I had to clean the pump piston because it had hardened herbicide residue on it. After the repair, the sprayer works normally.SP Systems or Hudson does not make this sprayer. It is made by SwissMex in Mexico. Looking at the tank closely, I can see the SwissMex name molded into the plastic. If O-ring sets were readily available, I'd give this sprayer 5 stars.

Excellent sprayer
I am shocked at some of the lower rating reviews listed here. I have been using the SP2 for 9 years. I am maintain 5 acres, and spray Roundup on fence lines and around buildings and trees. I have never done any sort of maintenance, I have never flushed it out, just grab it in the spring and go to town. Probably hundreds of gallons through it. The only shortcoming I can see is the strapset, a bit cheap, but they have never given out. I would almost dock it a star for that, but the performance of the sprayer offsets the cheapo straps.

20 inch wand
Nothing excites me more than a 20 inch wand...and this sprayer sure has some power when it sprays.

Something to consider
I must rate this SP2 sprayer with the lowest score I can. (I would have rated it -0- and This is why)When I was shopping for a backpack sprayer I had no preconceived idea which one was better made or had better support from the company. So I went through the listings and looked at several I was interested in. It came down between this SP2 and another manufacturer. I read the reviews, and chose SP2 because the reviews on the SP2 were so good. I now believe that the reason the reviews are so good is because those people that have a good experience are more inclined to write a review. But let me tell you my situation so you can save some money.I purchased the SP2 and got it fast from Amazon -> Great!Put some water in it and pumped it up; it would not pressurize. I went to their website and found it says quote, "This is a common problem". I repeatedly pumped it vigorously 30-50 times. Again tank would not pressurize -> Very BadI called the manufacture for help to resolve the problem and they had me disassemble it so as to check on the condition of the seals... all of them looked good; and also lubed. After re-assembly... still no pressurization. To this point I have repeatedly called them and have subsequently disassembled and reassembled the SP2 *4 times* I have yet to get any pressurization from this unit.I asked them if I could make an exchange - their reply was that they do not do exchanges. They did offer to repair it (a brand new unit mind you) at my expense. Shipping there and back plus parts. I am not going to put one more dime into this well made piece of junk. You might be one of the lucky ones that gets a good unit.. I bought this SP Systems sprayer because I like well made equipment; I will not buy anything from them ever again... my time is valuable to me also. Besides, I do not think that a brand new purchase should ever need fixing before it can be used.

Product went to hell
This is the third SP2 sprayer I have owned over the past fifteen years. The first one lasted nine years without any problems. The second one didn't pump by year three as the pump couldn't be primed and then it lost pressure really fast so that constant pumping was necessary to use it at all. This last unit was a dud from the beginning. What happened to the brass wand and brass spray tip? Flimsy short plastic wand that warped quickly in the heat. I was unable to prime the pump within a few months of opening the package. Very disappointed in the downgrades this sprayer underwent and am moving on to another brand. Why do manufacturers always go down instead of up when they make changes to a good product.

Four Stars
Got this when we were young and strong. It can be heavy for older folks!

LOOK MA NO LEAKS
The SP2 Sprayer works very well and does not leak from the bottom seal [as advertised] I have had the pleasure to spray several gallons of different organic herbicides and insecticides through the SP2 and have been very happy with the performance and ease of use. I thought that the SP2 would be used for only large area coverage but have found that its ease in use and especially cleanup have made it easier to use for small spray applications also. I have retired my old one hander.
