Best purchase for my bed!
My husband and I have a dilemma: I like to sleep with heavy blankets piled up over me, but he sleeps hot and only likes a sheet. We used to have a poly-blend blanket that we'd use in the summers, over top of a cotton flat sheet, but my husband kept waking up sweaty in the middle of the night. I heard about the great airflow and breathability of flax linen, so I thought that our cotton flat sheet + a linen blanket might do the trick. Well, I'm basically a wizard, because ever since investing in this blanket a few months ago, we've both slept wonderfully. I like that it's somewhat heavy, so it gives me that cuddly feeling that all good blankets do. He likes that it's breathable, so heat doesn't get trapped in while he sleeps. Perfect solution to our dilemma!

CURE FOR NIGHT SWEATS
Before buying this blanket, I would find myself overheated in the wee hours of almost every morning. I already had linen sheets, but I had an acrylic blanket over that. I realize now how foolish that was. Now, I actually find that I am getting a bit chilled in the coolest parts of the night, and I have added a small (blissfully breathable) wool blanket over my linen sheets and this linen blanket. I'm encouraged, because I think this means that I will be able to comfortably make it through the hottest months once I remove the wool blanket. I also am now able to not have the fan blowing on me all the time. It is a revelation. I don't have enough stars for this blanket. As for what others have written, these are my impressions. Yes, it definitely smells like hay, but it does subside, and knowing that it's a natural smell, I don't find it offensive at all. Also, I haven't washed it yet. In its unwashed size, it does overhang my queen sized bed. The color is... difficult to describe. It is half-way between grey and brown (taupe, right?), and I can almost imagine that it has an infinitesimal hint of green in it. The construction of the blanket seems good. The plaid is woven in, not printed, and there is linen bias-cut binding tape sewn around the perimeter. I am so happy with this. HIGHLY recommend!

Literally the worst blanket i've ever used
If you wanna sleep with a potato sack every night, this is your perfect blanket. It didn't even come with a tag on it, so i have no clue what it is actually made out of. Or how to launder it. My dog now has softer more comfortable bedding than I do. I'd prefer a scatchy wool army blanket to this. Don't buy this blanket unless you want to pretend youre reliving the the irish potato famine.

Actually keeps you cooler!
This blanket has been great during the past few weeks of hot & humid summer. Without AC in the house, something needed to give and I ordered this blanket. It always feels cool, even when the bedroom is in the 80’s and muggy. Well worth the money! Side note, the color is brown not grey as stated in the description.

Very comforting Blanket
I'm knocking off 1 star of a great item because I bought this for $126 and since being shipped item is now $99 and a little upset about it. Literally a day or so after I purchased it and been eyeing this item for about a month.Although upset the price dropped $30 after I purchased, the product is exactly what I hoped for.Item arrived in about 2 weeks stamped straight from Belarus. Washed and threw it in the dryer right away from opening it since I know linen sheds it out in the dryer but after a few drys its starts to dissappear from the lint trap. The blanket actually has really good weight and keeps me cool. I've been on a journey for sleeping cool from the bed (Aurora active cooling bed), to pillows (Coop Eden pillows), bed sheets (European made pure linen sheets), and now this flax linen blanket since I live in the hot humid islands of Oahu, Hawaii. The blanket was the was the last piece as far as bedding goes to my sleeping cool journey. It keeps me cool and have now better sleep due to the weight of it and staying cool. Hard combo to find right there but this is definitely it.

I love this blanket!
First of all, if you're looking for something fine and super soft and the thread count for bed linens can't be high enough for, this blanket is not what you are looking for! It's very coarsely woven and has a more rough linen texture. But that's exactly one thing I really like since it doesn't stick to the skin when sweaty and the texture feels nice on the skin. Another important feature is that it is rather heavy, which again, I love.I have the blanket since about a year now and it kept me cool at night in the Californian summer and warm during the winter (for really cool nights with a duvet on top).I'm taking medication which has heavy night sweats as a side effect (under a normal duvet I wake up wet in the morning no matter the room temperature and under a single sheet I freeze and don't like the sticking and moving with the body). This blanket made that completely gone.I'm now even taking that blanket with me when I'm traveling. It's simply the best purchase I made in the last year's and improved my sleep tremendously.

Nice quality, heavy linen throw - but not soft (yet)
I am a big fan of natual linen & neutral colors - have had linen clothes for years. I am a recent convert to 100% linen sheets and wondering why in the world it took me so long to do it. Now I'm on a 'linen mission' to transform my home - all things linen (-:I do love cotton, and how super-soft the quilts/coverlets I've had have been, but I have three large dogs who occasionally launch themselves from the bed after one of the cats who like to taunt them, and they've put holes in three of them in the last year. I needed something stronger, and didn't want to go with canvas (-; Ended up with a linen/cotton blend quilt and it's withstood the test of dog nails.I LOVE this blanket - wonderful 'greige' plaid (beigey, taupey greys) - purchased for use on the sofa and TV watching. I washed it in lukewarm water, unscented natural fabric softener in the rinse, then dried on low for 40 minutes with wool dryer balls. It was still a tad dampish when I took it out of the dryer, but flung it over the sofa and it finished drying in another 30 minutes. Good pure linen is not the softest of fabrics when new, but it does soften up over time with use and washings. This blanket is very well made, thick and warm (but breathable, so not too warm). Contemplating another one for the end of my bed...
