Unsafe. Corodes fast
This product is unsafe and corodes fast. Locking mechanism is easily over powered. Had this winched tight and lift up on the bow of my boat and it unwinds easily. Luckily my boat had a bow safety chain and multiple straps as this winch failed while driving...

Cheap, waste of money and time installing
Unsafe product, Center bolt incorrectly sized for spool. Locking mechanism to far away to not roll through pinch point. Had to tie the front of the boat to trailer to get it home. Good thing I strap the back down. Could have slid off trailer coming up the ramp. Superb product Amazon. Will probably cause major accident on some highway if it hasn't already.

3rd use and the latch "dog" rotated past gears and will no longer engage. main bolt holding spool bent and the fitment of the spool shaft has a huge amount of slop. This thing is junk.

Was not put together right
Got this because it was $3 cheaper than a Walmart put it on and notice that it wouldn't lock right notice that it was put together from the factory wrong is actually wrong took it apart and the bolt snapped right off had to go buy another bolt put it all back together and now it works right such a disappointment I would not buy this item
