Yes, if you have a deep enough box and it's not the junction for too many other wires. The switch part that goes in the box is 1 1/2"W, 2 5/8"L and 1 1/2"D. The description doesn't say so, but it should be noted this switch is designed only for the "Hunter Original" that is reversible and some were not.

The reason you see the word "original" is that you cannot use just any switch with a Hunter fan and you cannot interchange a Hunter switch with another model fan. Typically they won't work and if they do...will generate a loud humming noise. Hope this helps.

When installing this electrical unit, how do you remove the Knob before the plate is replaced?

It is simply a plastic knob with a hole on the back shaped like the letter D, which pushes onto a small plastic post on the switch also shaped the letter D. It is called an interfence fit because you grip it between two fingers and push it onto the post. It also pulls off the same way. No fasteners.
