Can these fit in a check bag?

You can take the footpockets with you as a carry-on item and put blades into your check-in bag/suitcase, if it is long enough. But I simply keep my fins assembled in their bag, check them as a separate item and pay my extra baggage item fee. I have two reasons for this. 1 - I like to have my special bag to carry them around in the field, and this bag is too long to be a carry-on item. 2 - I don't like taking them apart - the less you do it, the longer they will last.

How stiff are these blades? Will they work well for beginners?

They are actually nice and supple. Should be very good for anybody trying long fins for the first time
