Great wide lens from Nikon
I'm using this new lens on a Nikon D5300 with the latest firmware update and everything works just fine. When attached to the D5300 camera, a new menu appears that controls the VR from the camera as there are no physical switches on the lens itself.I like it because it has vibration reduction (VR) so photos come out sharp when hand-held. It's also light weight, quiet and has fast focus. The photos look good. This is a useful lens for indoors - to catch everything inside a room - and for outdoors for those deep, wide scenic shots. One of the best things about this lens is it allows me to have a quality, true wide-angle lens at an affordable price. It comes with a US warrantee, front and rear lens caps, front lens hood and a soft carrying bag. Hats off to Amazon who delivered this lens just 20 hours after purchase.

Great DX (APSC) lens for the price!
I'm a hobbyist in photography and this is my first ultra wide angle lens. It took me some time to learn how to use ultra wide lens but I absolutely love this lens. For around $300 it gives me great images and a lot of fun to use.Pros:- Optically superb, very sharp in landscape photography- Fast and accurate auto focus thanks to the newer AF-P motor- Smooth and quiet auto focus (compared to AF-S lenses)- Close focusing distance- Light weight and small size- Lens hood includedNo real cons for me but there are some limitations:- Maximum aperture F/4.5-5.6, which is not good for low light, indoor, and astro photography.- When using the built-in flash on my D5500, shooting at 10 mm there is a shadow of the lens in the imageOther notes:- Unless you need to photograph people in low light or you want to do astro photograph, the small aperture will do just fine.- I didn't use this lens extensively until I went on a family trip recently; Admittedly I have trouble in composition as the angle of view is too wide in some cases.- I learned to get closer and take advantage of the close focus distance, then I started to really appreciate this little gem.

Incredibly Light & Reasonably priced Sharp Wide Angle Lens
Very Light & relatively inexpensive wide angle lens. The range (15-30mm full frame equivalent) is true wide angle. Although there is some distortion (especially at extreme wide angle) it is no worse than other lenses of this genre. Be sure to check compatibility with your camera as this lens only works on Nikons manufactured in 2013 and later (and some of the earlier ones in that range require a firmware update).Although the aperture range is a little on the slow side (f/4.5-5.6), the Vibration reduction (VR) should compensate for this by allowing a slower shutter speed. Sharpness is very good especially after 20mm (equiv) or so.Obviously a lot of plastic is involved in producing this lens so light (8 ounces), but the lens feels reasonably solid. Really works well with the D5600.

Outstanding lens! Incredible performance for the price.
Used this lens on a recent trip to Acadia National Park and was seriously impressed. Super fast auto focus, exceptional wide angle capability and unbelievably low price. Balances perfectly with my Nikon D5600.

Awesome lens for the price
Nikon has made a winner of a lens here for DX cameras. It shoots wide enough to create beautiful, striking shots, focuses rapidly amd accurately, and the VR helps a lot for shooting in low light. It's also tiny and light, feeling well-made but not overbuilt. For the price, it's awesome, though if you're looking for optical perfection or fast apertures, this lens has some drawbacks.First, the f/4.5 aperture makes low light shots of anything moving a hassle. More notably, though, it creates strong color fringing at apertures below f/8 on the edges, and always seems just a little soft on the focus. All that said, this lens opens up new possibilities for DX shooting: the 10mm end is a joy to work with, and the lens produces so little distortion that I had to point it at a brick wall for a little while to fully see how much this changed across the range of its lengths. This is now the lens that typically sits on my camera, because it encourages (sort of requires) shots that are taken very close to your subjects, a relationship that is reflected in the images themselves.

Can't back up? This is the lens for you. Great Optics, very practical IMO..
I have had this lens for about 2 months now, I mainly do construction photography, and I am very happy with the results of the few hundred photos I have taken with it. I have a crop sensor D5500 and I do a lot of indoor photography for work and pleasure. This lens at the 20 mm setting is significantly wider than my standard kit 18-55mm lens at the 18 setting. So if you are in an environment where backing up isn't an option this lens is an ideal choice.I also do a lot of panoramic photography in which I may take 5-10 shots and sew them together in photoshop, this lens has given me the ability to take 2-3 photos and sew them instead of 6-7. Or just take 1 instead of sewing 2-3 together.I also find the distortion at the 10 setting visually attractive when shooting large buildings or vehicles, it give them a larger than life feel.Optics are wonderful, crisp and auto focus is quick and accurate. The lens hood is nice but basic, but be careful you cannot use the built in flash with it, it will create a shadow (same issue with many Lens hoods)
