Sweet and would highly recommend.
The media could not be loaded. Needed to replace my 20+ year old Wilson duffel bag which was beginning to unravel. Do note I wanted a true duffel bag--not a hybrid duffel/suitcase. A true duffel bag to me has a specific shape, takes minimal storage space when not in use, packs easily, has lots of compartments, is light and compact, water resistant and has a high cool factor. I studied every one I could find online ranging from $30 to $1,200 and chose the 28" High Siera Fairlead portable 28 inch as it had all the features I want, plus one bonus I didn't know existed.I had some trepidation as the price was much lower than the other ones I was seriously considering. However, the High Sierra arrived clearly well constructed, strong and the separate container at bottom keeps my cloths tightly packed and unwrinkled. The tie down straps in the bottom section are sweet. If I don't want to pack both compartments separately I just unzip the divider and have one large expanse of space. The one "gotcha" is that the video with the guy with the red duffel bag claims there are TWO end compartments -- one on each end -- but there is only ONE, and it is on the end with the retractible handle. Maybe the newer models were modified to allow the bag to better stand on end which some complained about, but to me standing on end is not something true duffel bags do well. Regardless, this one does a better job at this than my old one did.I especially like the strong material constructuon and the sturdy telescoping handle which gladly comes out much farther than the video shows. It wheels itself along very nicely and with good stability.I couldn't be happier with the High Sierra except maybe for that second external compartment I was expecting, but the one external compartment is much larger than expected and will suit my needs.Good job High Sierra!

Good size, appears durable
Exactly what I wanted to replace a similar one I have had for years. My previous one's main zipper developed an unrepairable tear after over a decades of airline abuse for ski trips.Width is smaller than previous bag, but volume is never my issue - it is always 50 lbs airline weight limit.Excellent communication with seller when I bought their smaller version and realized it was too small for my use and ordered this one.

Week built but only used on one trip so far.
Very sturdy , feels well built and too bulky, only used it on 1 trip so don’t know how long it will last.

Rugged and roomy
I just returned from a three week trip during which time this bag was subjected to numerous baggage handlers and airplane cargo holds, not to mention being tossed into the trunk of numerous rental cars( sometimes on a daily basis). The bag performed perfectly. It shows very little ware and all zippers and latches still perform perfectly. As you can imagine, I had the bag absolutely stuffed with enough clothing for three weeks. The adjustable latched straps on the side took pressure off the lower compartment zipper, thus preventing the failure seen on other competitive bags.Although I had no issues with the wheels, I would like to see them upgraded to roller blade style wheels for quieter, smoother operation. I had issues with the bag wanting to roll on its side after going over a curb but since the wheels can only be about 12” apart that is a physics issue and not a design issue. After looking at perhaps dozens of suitcases, I am happy I chose this one. It’s strong, durable, and a terrific value. One negative point: there is a deep top zipper pocket that is somewhat useless. If the bag is truly packed (as mine was) there is no room inside for items to be put in the pocket. It can be used for small items such as passport, boarding pass or a bottle of aspirin. Then again if the main compartment is not completely full it might be big enough for a pair of shoes (ladies).

Will not stand on end when empty or packed.
We own 2 sets of High Sierra Drop Bottom Luggage or a total of 5 pieces. 2 large 34 inch and 2 medium and 1 overnighter with computer case that disconnects from the main body. We loved the old design we bought 17 years ago. They have traveled by train, plane, and automobile across 50 states and Costa Rica. They have been wonderful but are in need of replacement as they have worn out. We tried replacing with the new model listed here. We were excited to know High Sierra remade them. We ordered 2 of the 34" large. We were so excited and soon that excitement turned to crap. The pieces would not stand on end by themselves empty or fully packed. This means they flop over when on end and not upright as pictured. There is a design flaw that will not let them stand upright. This is a major problem for a traveler. I am returning them for credit but not find it is going to cost me almost $16 each to return an inferior product. Our Original 4 pieces stand up either empty or loaded. The small overnighter does not and because of that we seldom take it with us. I take my company backpack instead. BUYER BEWARE!!

Zippers have started to fail after 1 year of travel
Bag is very roomy and the wheels and handle have held up well. The zippers however, have started failing after 1 year of frequent travel. Probably ok for the money, but I will be replacing with something of higher quality.

Umpire Approved: Durable and Tested
I got this to carry my umpire gear in as a more affordable bag over the typical major brands. I have had this bad for about a year now and it has held up remarkably well. No issues, nothing has broken. This bag has seen over 300 softball games in the last year, dirt, gravel parking lots, its been very abused. Zippers work, wheels work, handle still extends. About the only thing that shows wear is the Velcro wrap on the handle. I have been VERY impressed with this bag, tons of room, I wanted a bag that had wheels and also a clothing compartment to keep my shirts and smaller items clean. This bad does all that. Perfect for umpiring. Will be buying another one soon as the season is over.
