Awesome....feels like you are cheating there is so much great info. You will feel incredibly prepared for a trip on the AT. It comes with a map specific to GA and NC. Little tips on the side of the map are great. Get all the books for section hiking the AT. It will come with me for sure!

I have covered almost half the trail described in this guide and have found both the books and maps to be very helpful. The book is great for reading before a hike in order to get a mental "lay of the land." I also make a copy of the section I am hiking to save weight and to protect the book itself. The maps are nicely detailed and waterproof. Great tool for every AT hiker.

I wish I had ordered this book prior to the data book I had ordered before. This one has a lot more detail and helpful information. It also comes with three maps. My only complaint is, like the majority of these books, it is written with the assumption you are heading south. So, if you are heading north you'll have to read it from back to front.

I gave this to my son who is an avid hiker in the Appalachian mountains around Asheville, NC. He says this was perfect and enjoys the identification of rest areas, water locations, distances provided, etc. He will be using the book on a regular basis. The pages are made from very durable materials and this is great for packing along the trail

The maps are great but the guide is misprinted. Pages 185 - 216 are missing, Pages 217 - 248 are in the guide twice, once where they should be and again after page 248. The guide goes from page 248 to page 217 - 248 then to page 249.

I love the Appalachian Trail and this is a must have for planning your trips!

The Book is good, however the maps are not of a scale that makes them particularly helpful for anything other than general planning.

This book and maps are awesome. I have already planned my next trip. The book makes it easy to plan going north or south on the trail.
