Great brick maker
With the inflation skyrocketing, I am needing to supplement my heat source for my home this winter. I have been using shredded paper from work and using this gadget to make fire bricks. This unit makes paper bricks fast and easy. When pushing down on the handles to compress the paper/water mixture, it hurts my hands. I ended up using a small board cut off of a 2x4 to squeeze it down and it helps. I am going to get an arbor press and try to compress it with it.You will need to be prepared to get into a mess. The water mixture squirts all over. I use a bucket on the side of my table to catch the overload mixture to recycle it for the next brick.

mostly good
It seems to work pretty good with what I'm pressing in it. The main box is a little bent to the inside and sleeve is hard to pull out, but it does press the paper pulp into a brick. As I said it is hard to pull out so the brick may come out bent or broke.

on ins
I didn't like that there weren't instructions on how to use. I am recycling paper and have never done anything like this before. It might be self explanatory to some but not to me.

Take that junk mail!
We are rich with fuel for the fire thanks to this beauty of a machine and a post box full of junk. It’s so easy to use and we’ve experimented with how mushy to make the mix. The best bricks are super mushed up paper. Turn those shreds to pulp and you’ll have a nice tight brick.

Fell apart the first time I used it
Tried it for the first time and the piece holding the lever onto the hinge popped right off.

My new favorite thing to do
The washers on the end of the handle are junk, but as as long as you are careful about pressing down, it still works without the end of the handle coming off. Otherwise, this is such a great tool, even if it’s for a single purpose. It has to have a minimum amount of paper to squeeze out the water, I had to get creative if they’re wasn’t enough to squeeze the water out. I used folded up Amazon box pieces, if they stuck to it, great. If not..they still can be used as fire starters!
