MicrosoftFMM-00001 Type Cover for Surface Pro - Black

The seller was very prompt in sending the keyboard. The seller also contacted me very quickly to confirm that the keyboard is for an older Surface Pro. Mine was a 6-pin keyboard and I think the newer ones are 8-pin. They also alerted me that it was not brand new; used, but tested to work. I really appreciate that they reached out to confirm all of this before mailing. I received it very quickly and it is working very well with my Surface Pro. Happy with the purchase.

Biggest issue is the proprietary power plug, forcing you to carry around its big bulky power cable. If it was USBC it’d be five stars, also struggles a little with cooling so definitely use in a well cooled room or near a fan for proper air flow

If you've used the Surface Pro, you know the SP keyboard is fantastic. This one is identical to the one I purchased in a bundle with my new SP7+. I bought this one for my wife's SP6. She was using a keyboard from a SP3, which was 9 years old and the original keyboard (the first generation of the pro keyboards) was getting ratty and I decided to buy her one of the updated models. While the ratty original one still worked fine, she LOVES the upgraded design of the slightly separated keys and overall better build quality.

After having my Type cover that came with my Surface Pro 5 for over 3 years it just stopped working. Nothing I tried got it to work and finally realized that it was no longer any good. I had gone to Best Buys to pick another one and even asked one of the employees if this is the correct one for my Surface (had my receipt) and he said yes. Went home and it was the wrong one. It had 8 prongs instead of 6 like my Surface. Blessing in disguise because this lead me to search for one on Amazon and I found this one and saw the great reviews. I've had it for several days and right when I attached it worked immediately. No problems. Also it was $40 less plus I like the black versus the gray that I had. A win, win. Works great and another happy customer!!

I liked the feel of typing with this keyboard it worked great for 3 years but now wont connect to my surface. Time for a new one!

Backstory: lost my cursor, went through the recommended steps to find it, didn't find it, and finally, the final professional tip was to "replace your keyboard". Went to M store and yikes! Left it that fast. Saw the review here about "6" and I thought "that's me!" (Thank you to that reviewer). Fantastic replacement. Excellent price. So wonderful to have a keyboard back again. I just work faster with a keyboard. Tapping the screen for my daily work slows me down. Don't have to have bluetooth on, no recharging or batteries needed. Just like the one that I originally got with my Surface. Thank you Amazon!

Although you may read on some websites that older Type Covers (Surface Pro 2 for example) will work on the Surface Pro 6, they will in fact not work on the Surface Pro 6. Even Microsoft gave me conflicting information on whether the older type cover would work or not.But, I purchased this type cover and it works great. So if you have Surface Pro 6 and need a type cover for a cheaper price than you can get from Microsoft, this is the one for you. Also, this one comes with Microsoft product support :-)

I am so glad I got this keyboard for my Surface Pro! It easily latches onto my device with the magnets. This product is previously used but I haven't had any issues with it. The keyboard was a little dirty when I got it but nothing that would cause me to send it back. The keys are comfortable to use. I love all of the controls, it makes it so easy to use and get typing jobs done quickly! Definitely worth the money spent!
