Excellent to see The Mural in what I believe is it’s entirety in English. Also this is the first I have encountered The Dice Player piece. Such a magnificent writer. Inshallah I will read it in Arabic one day!

The book is a tribute to one of the finest poets, who has preserved the art in the Arabic language, for the world to appreciate.

One of best poems ever.

This is a beautiful meditation by a very fine poet, on facing down death. It includes Darwish's last poem, "The Dice Player, read by him a month before his death. Be careful, once you start reading Darwish, you become addicted. Translated from the Arabic by Rema Hammami, it also includes gorgeous illustrated drawings by John Berger.
