I have tried every type of wine bottle opener there is over the years. Most require strength to extract the cork and keep the wine bottle from slipping off a surface. As I've aged, my arthritic hands aren't as strong. So I now use this type of bottle opener. I have gone through different brands and found that they only last a year or so - problems with the charging or the mechanism.So I tried this Famili product. Besides the positive reviews and reasonable pricing, I really liked the attractive appearance and the clever design of having the foil cutter in the base that holds the bottle opener. The bottle opener charged quickly and using it to open a bottle was effortless, quiet and efficient. Wow!Lastly, the box is really nice and makes a great presentation for a gift. I haven't had it very long, but based on the quality and design, I feel confident that it will last. I didn't received the product in exchange for posting a review. I'm more than willing to share negative reviews, but that's not the case here. And thanks to the company for following up to see if the product was ok. Highly recommend.

I absolutely LOVE this product and have recommended it to all of my friends. They are so impressed on how well it works and how easy it is to use. It's a bonus that it looks so nice in our home bar and it's always charged and ready to go. I wanted something compact that didn't have a huge charging base that looked clunky and unsightly and this product met and well surpassed my expectations! It is so easy and simple to use that anyone can do it. I personally never thought I'd use the foil cutter, but it is so simple to use that I actually use it all the time.

I distrust gadgets generally. The manual wine bottle openers work great, but can be difficult to use, especially for my wife. So I decided to try this electric opener with somewhat low expectations. Surprise: it works as advertised!. You only have to hold the bottle firmly as the torque from the opener will spin the bottle if you don't. Here's some advise: the usage directions are not clear. There are two buttons: one to screw into the cork and the other to remove the cork. But I misread the directions and tried to use the "release the cork" button after driving in the screw to the bottle and the result was just to have the screw back out of the cork and not lift it up I thought another useless gadget. After re-reading the instructions I realized that you have to hold the "down/screw into the cork" button not just until it fully enters the cork, but until it pulls the cork out fully. Then use the cork retraction button to blow the cork off. It works well. Recommend.

What a neat device! This was quick to charge, and so easy to use that I was amazed! I have carpal tunnel syndrome, and so when I thought of getting a cork screw for opening wine, I was immediately drawn to something automatic. This was a snap to use! The cork was pulled before I even realized it with just the touch of a button! And a press of the button again unscrews the cork effortlessly! The base is actually a simple little device to cut the foil from the bottle with, again, much less effort than I imagined! I am delighted I found this device! And I know it will save my wrists! And it is just so clever!

I have owned 3 other brands of electric cork removers in the past. One pulled out the corks well enough, but then they got stuck inside the unit. One could not remove synthetic corks. One broke after a week's routine home (not commercial) use.The Famili FM700WR wine opener is in a different league. It works flawlessly! When the cork is fully extracted and inside the unit, the motor automatically turns off. When I push the button, the cork is released in seconds -- every time, every kind of cork. The design of this unit is far better than anything else I've used. I'm going to order more and give them as gifts to friends.I was not familiar with Famili prior to seeing this wine bottle opener on Amazon.com, and I am so pleased to have found it. Bravo!

UPDATE TO FIRST REVIEW: We have had these openers for several months at 2 different homes. One of them works great, the other one stopped holding a charge after one month of use. I plug it in, it charges to green and I unplug it. When I try to open a charge later, it is dead, no longer charged. I have changed my rating to just 3 starts for this reason.I have had several cordless rechargeable wine openers and on average, they have lasted an average of 1 year. I bought this Famili Rechargeable Cordless Electric Wine Bottle opener because of the excellent ratings and the fact that it says it will uncork 180 bottles of wine on one charge. Because I have arthritis in my hands, I need to rely on gadgets to help me do many simple tasks. My opener arrived promptly in good packaging and in perfect condition. I took it out of the box and was impressed with the elegant pearl finish of the opener and the smooth feel of it in my hands.The buttons were very responsive and easy to push too. I plugged it in and let it charge overnight, then I opened my first bottle of wine. This opener is powerful, it quickly screwed into the cork and then reversed the cork out with absolutely no hesitation. I have opened two more bottles of wine since with the same results. So far so good, I recommend this product and the vendor. I'll check back in when I get to my 177th Bottle.Cheers!
