New to pour over and this is perfect 1-2 cups
Very good quality and easy to use. I’ve never used a pour over before and this is simple and easy to use and makes really good coffee. This is the updated model that has a raised bead on the bottom to help the coffee drain and not clog. Seems to be a great update because I’ve never had it clog. The branded filters are expensive but Amazon sells some that are made for this pour over and are half the price. They also work great!

If you enjoy brewing single cups of coffee at a time, you need this beauty in your life.
Let me begin with, “Be still my beating heart.” My 185-S Kalita pour-over basket style replaced the awful ceramic cone I bought.-Kalita is made in Japan, vs China for the ceramic cone-The design is beautifully retro-The material is highly polished stainless steel-The Bakelite cover keeps the handle cool-It fits every cup, mug and travel cup that we own-The workmanship is superior to what I’ve seen on some so-called high end cookwareAmazon refunded my purchase cost for the ceramic cone, because they’d sent the wrong size “starter pack”. I’ve since donated it to Habitat, so the relatively high cost for the 185-S was mitigated. However, now that I see how the Kalita coffee basket is so beautifully made, I can say that I’d buy it again. But as I’m 68, I think it may outlive me. BTW, if you have the large, basket-style filters, they can be trimmed and ‘messaged’ to fit into the 185-S. Then wet it, press it into place, dump the excess water, then brew your favorite Joe. (I bought a 1000-pack of basket filters thinking I could use them to filter my homemade bone broth. Yeah, no.)

Makes a great cup of coffee!
I have loved this. It’s sturdy, seems durable, and makes a great cup of coffee. Highly recommend.

My favorite
Was having stomach issues with morning coffee using a french press. Bought this coffee dripper and some paper cone filters. I love the design, it is super practical but has this great molded plastic handle that probably isn't necessary but looks great and shows an attention to detail often missing in our mass produced world. Works great, looks great, and solved my stomach complaint from morning coffee.

Filter papers are expensive.
Tastes good. The classy design copied by a lot of Chinese knockoffs obviously which speaks for how good this is itself. One point off because the filter papers are expensive enough to make buying this a pocket hole.

Great solution for a quick pour-over cup
I normally use a coffee press for my morning coffee, and much prefer it to other methods. But I was looking for a way to make a quick cup with less hassle and easier cleanup, and after doing some research decided to try this pour-over gizmo. I'm very happy with it: the three small holes in the bottom allow the hot water to drip slowly through, improving the brewing. The size is right for a small to medium cup, and I was able to use just a regular cone filter I had left over, didn't need to go find (and pay for!) some special size of filter. (The larger filter sticks out over the top, but it doesn't hinder anything.)So I wouldn't recommend this for the finest cup of coffee you've ever had, but I would definitely recommend it for the quick and easy pour-over cup for anyone who wants that.

Liked More in Person
I'm not a huge fan of the beehive-like aesthetic of Hario products and this Kalita dripper. That said, however, in person it looks much nicer than in pictures and appears well made and high quality. The handle is more like brown (it often appears black like Bakelite in pictures). All in all a pleasant surprise, and a nice backup for the copper dripper from Kalita that I also own. (This one has much easier maintenance, no polishing, while the copper one is simply gorgeous amongst the coffee and kitchen ware.) This one also performs very well too, with no issues whatsoever that I've run across so far.

Much Smaller Than You Think!
The media could not be loaded. First - this coffee filter is incredibly good quality. I am only commenting on the size, as I felt the ad was misleading.I took several pictures (see quarter for scale) and a video, to show how impractical it would be to make two cups of coffee with this. It is astonishingly tiny! You can only pour about a fourth of a cup of water in it at a time and that takes several minutes to go through. I put a heaping to tablespoons scoop of coffee per 16 oz of water and it took about 10 minutes to brew. Besides the time, I don't like the loss of temperature. My guess is the size of the coffees this filter is intended for is likely 4 to 8 oz.All of that said, I will be buying the larger version because I actually love how sturdy the product is and my goal is to switch from plastic to metal.
