This mat does what they say. I have two large dogs and one, in particular, is a very sloppy drinker and generally still as water in her "cheeks" as she leaves the bowl, dripping large puddles all around it. Rugs and other mats quickly get soaked and stay damp with we don't switch them out often. However, we've had this mat for two weeks now and not only is it water proof (so that no dampness soaks into our hardwood floors, but it allows the water it captures to evaporate. I check it periodically to make sure it isn't just sort of "holding" the water that gets dribbled all over it, and it keeps pretty dry. This does seem to be well-designed and effective. Very happy with the purchase so far!

I previously rated this product five stars, as I loved the size of it and thought it was great. I was horrified, however, when I lifted the mat last night and found mold and moisture trapped from the mat destroyed my wood floors. I’m upset that my infant and pets have been around so much mold. The mat did not repel water at all, but rather trapped it, creating a breeding ground for mold.

Just what I was looking for. I have oversized pet feeders and I wanted something that would hold both with a silicone bottom and this one looks better than the ones with lip (also I don't need a lip because there's no chance my water bowl might spill). I like the texture and paw print designs around the edge, it looks really nice in my kitchen!

We have two dogs and I was looking for a rug that both of their sets of dishes would fit on. This one is perfect. I have one small dog (two smaller bowls) and a bigger dog (two larger bowls) and all four of the bowls fit on the rug. The larger dog is a messy drinker and this rug catches a lot of the water plus the floor stays protected from the water that gets on the rug = dry floor underneath, yay! Love it!

I have a 105 pound lab. I also serve as a foster home for dogs.....but I also like my house to be clean. Lol. I know. Anyway, this mat is excellent. I just wish I went even bigger. With the chaos some drops make it beyond the edge. However, this may has made a drastic difference. It’s also been tested in the wash.Other reviewers giving low ratings because their dog ate the mat....? Well, the issue is not the mat. The issue is that your dog is bored! It’s a mat for water drips. Not a chew toy, and therefore not a mat problem. This mat is great. Get it. You won’t be disappointed.

dog doesnt destroy everything. :/ I had put my dogs water bowl over it because he makes a giant mess everytime he drinks water. It only lasted one day. I went to work and came back to a chaos mess. He chewed it up. In theory it was a nice gift. I had to throw it away. If your dog doesnt chew every single thing, its a great way to have the mess from the water bowl be controlled.

First off this mat is a very nice size. See photo of 80lbs Lab for reference. It fits three large bowls and still has plenty of edge room for drips and drool. I love the color and it fits in with the overall look of our home while protecting our hardwoods. I highly recommend this mat.

These mats do a great job of catching spilled water and general mess from our two large dogs. The color fits perfect with our new floors and the dogs seem to not even notice them! When they spill a lot of water on them we just carefully lift them to take out back to drain and dry for a few minutes in the sun! No problem!

Excellent - completely stops the spread of water and food and is vey easy to clean
