Almost gave up on these bulbs, but are working great now.
Almost gave up on this bulb. It was very difficult to pair at first. It would not work with my Echo dot right away either. After giving up and trying the next day, the bulb paired with the app and the other 6 I bought did so on the first try. The app was difficult to use at first, but once I figured it out it was ok. Turns out you have to pair it with the app first, then add the skill to Alexa through the Alexa app, and finally then are you able to pair it with your Echo dot.

Beautiful Bulbs, Value Pricing, Frustrating Application, Verbosely Digressive Review
Super excited about bulbs and I like Alexa's smart-home automation!Prior to purchasing, I'd checked out MiMoodz website and liked what they were all about and was thrilled to recognize the great value on these and their smaller bulbs (which magically jumped from $9.95 to $33.95 while checking out on March 30th, circumventing additionally purchasing those). These are the perfect size for my recessed ceiling canisters and a novelty movie-set type lamp. Note to MiMoodz, if you're running a discount or price special, and it's ending on the day before the last day of the month, perhaps mention this somewhere in the advertisement, it will encourage sales while setting up realistic expectations for customers like myself who don't like seeing gouging 333% during the checkout process. I'd mentioned the March 30th purchase date as I assume it happened to be the exact moment these prices skyrocketed? What attracted me to these vs. just re-wiring circuitry and switches for Alexa or using plug-type on/off smart-devices is the ability to control dimming. Initial "opening the box" experience was wonderful. Excellent protective and well-marketed packaging and an absolutely beautiful, well built looking bulb. I'd followed their instructions, installed application on two devices capable of running it; the Amazon BLU phone and an antiquated HP Touchpad tablet, as it WON'T INSTALL ON FIRE TABLET or Samsung phones for whatever limitation reason (perhaps can later try 'backdoor'ing into Fire but for now I'd like doing as intended by the manufacturer. I'm really hoping to find a way to get these setup soon! What frustrates me with this application includes re-entering my wireless credentials each time that I'm attempting to setup a bulb, the fact that it takes >20 minutes per bulb to complete "Searching, Configuring, Waiting and Success", and even after that, no bulbs show until completely closing down the application and re-entering. Frustratedly attempting to get these setup for weeks, despite other Amazon Alexa devices and bulbs taking me seconds, I'd committed to getting these working today.Learned that flicking the switch on/off repeatedly will get the bulb back into flashing setup mode, I'd ran the application, which ran into timeouts on search error 1006 out of time and network error 103, despite being just a few feet from my wireless router. Eventually, it does complete the setup. I've tried running this setup with the bulb in a standard lamp as well as a plain vanilla socket and the previously mentioned can light in the ceiling, and none setup easily, all requiring the 20+ minute cycle of clicking retry on the application while flicking lights on/off to keep in setup mode. Determined to get these setup eventually!FINALLY, Success? Bulbs were added to my application panel and I was able to try and adjust dimming and changing or just turning off and it's not working. Same problem attempting to setup from either Android device, my next step might be to install an Android emulator on my PC and attempt to add from there. What baffles me is seeing "success" and still (1) not seeing bulbs in the application until restarting, and (2) once seeing the bulbs in the application, unable to turn on/off with the application nor adjust the dimmer feature. What I do like is the comfortable bright white light and excellent build quality of the bulbs. My purpose for these obviously is to use with my Alexa, so will continue trying and will update when I'm successful. I'd love to give these 5 stars mostly as it looks like a well-manufactured product and I liked what I'd read about the company from their website. They seem to be crafting original versions of useful products, vs. a majority of vendors here slapping their name onto privately labeled bulbs with mysterious representation. Nothing wrong with the latter either, as those seem to work fine with applications like Tuyasmart. From what I understand, the technology behind the majority of wifi bulbs comes from a single manufacturer, so it'd make sense multiple applications might detect different devices, but that's not the case here.My rating of 3 stars is I'd love to give 5 stars for manufacturing and marketing and zero stars for the application, at least until I get it working for me, so that's 3 stars. I'll update appropriately if/when I do get this working. For two weeks I've been telling myself "others seem to have set this up successfully, maybe I should bug them and find out what phone they used or if they have tips", but I'll figure it out :)As an epileptic who's not particularly photosensitive, just mentioning, you might want to include a disclaimer for people who are. I know some friends who would have more than frustration watching flashing bulbs, just saying and certainly not a dealbreaker for me, more just a casual observation.

BULBS WOULD NOT WORK WITH MY RESOURCES
Unfortunately, the bulbs just aren't compatible with my resources. I have AT&T U-Verse wi-fi, with a PACE 5268AC router, and an Android smart-phone. The MiMoodz app just wouldn't recognize the bulb. I'm not terribly tech-savvy, but I'm guessing that the 2.4 / 5.0 GHz feature of the router could be the problem (the MiMoodz FAQs states that the app only works with 2.4 GHz). In any event, I boxed the bulbs up and returned them to Amazon.

Mixed Success, Frustration, Returning
Based on the number of mixed to negative reviews, I bought 5 of these knowing I could return them if I had to. So far:- the web site for mimoodz.com appears to be down (domain expired) but most instructions seem to be here on Amazon- the bulbs I've configured through the mimoodz app so far have taken 5-6 attempts to discover through the app UPDATE: once the bulb is flashing and you enter your WiFi SSN and password and the bulb enters the discovering step, just be patient, sometimes it takes a minute or two after it stops flashing to enter the configuring mode and complete setup. Do not repeatedly cycle power to put the bulb into discovery mode when it appears that no progress is being made in the app. Doing so will only frustrate you and complicate the process.- dimming and color functions work fine through the mimoodz ap- none of the bulbs have been discovered by echo yet (mimoodz skill is enabled and I've attempted to discover multiple times)Hoping the bulbs will be discovered by Echo given a little time.UPDATE: Discovered that my Amazon Echo was on a 5 GHz WiFi channel. Reconnected it to a 2.4 GHz channel. Still no joy. Also discovered that the Mimoodz Alexa skill detects and conflicts with my iHome smart plugs which are using the iHome skill. It's beginning to look like these bulbs will be going back :(Final UPDATE: Bulbs still not discoverable by Amazon Echo despite waiting overnight for things to sync up. I really wanted to like these. If I lived alone, I'd keep them and manage brightness from my phone. However the purpose of the purchase was really to get the bulbs controlled through Alexa and that isn't happening for some reason. I have ordered different bulbs (advertised as certified by Amazon) and will be returning these. Its too bad I was not able to make them work. I cannot recommend them at this time. It would be nice if some of the people who have posted "working great for me" would add a little detail about their environment and setup.Final update, returned this morning.

Great bulb for Great Control
I am enjoying the features of smart devices and this light has helped in that endeavor. Easy to just place in the light fixture and get started. It's the get started part that took me awhile. It's confusing at first because you first of all have to connect the device to the internal wifi then it gets hooked up universally. The app will give you false positive readings on the control if your wifi internally fails, so if you are in another room and can't see if you are actually controlling the light, you may not know it is not working if your wifi fails for any reason. It's really not a big thing, but something to consider with smart devices, and all smart devices have this flaw. The great part is, and my Wife loves this feature, the old manual switch still works to turn it off or not. The app that is suggested works great if you want the light to give a full range from warm to cool as well as light strength due to a dimming feature. It works with my alexa echo voice control but it takes time to train alexa or for her to train you.
