All consuming obsession...
...gawd I absolutely loved this story full of romantic drama and angst. I adored Gabe Hamilton. He's cool, composed and intense. He's handsome (but of course!)...arrogant, confident, successful and sophisticated. Let's see...what else? Oh, he's a demanding dominant! I loved his Alpha maleness. He could have anything he wants - - and he wants his best friends grown up little sister, Mia.Mia Crestwell is full of life. She's young, vibrant and beautiful. She gracefully stands up for herself and rarely backs down. I loved her strong character. She's got a backbone. She's sweet, gentle and kind.Gabe's lust for Mia is all consuming and he's unable to show restraint with her. His lack of control with Mia is embarrassing for him...it's something that has never happened to him before. Losing control with a woman? Wanting her 24/7? Unheard of for Gabe Hamilton! Yet he cannot make himself regret his actions because he wants Mia more and more and that's all that matters to him. He's ashamed of himself for treating her with such a lack of respect yet he cannot slow himself down long enough to treat her properly (in bed). He's unhinged around her. His possessiveness is complete and there is no sign of it changing. And then horror of horrors....Gabe Hamilton...the man who stays emotionally detatched from women, falls in love with Mia! He does anything and everything he can think of to distance his feelings....all to no avail.I so loved this story of a rich, arrogant, lonely and damaged man who surprises himself by falling hard for a person he's known for...forever. Nobody is more surprised than Gabe when he realizes his heart is lost to Mia. She walked into his life like she belonged.....she did! Mia becomes Gabes' saving grace.I was so emotionally invested with these two main characters that it was very hard to let them go. I mean...Gabe....COME ON! He's one very hawt piece of yummy cheeeeze!! This story has a bit of Fifty Shades flavor, although for me..as much as I loved this story, it cannot stand in the same room as the Fifty Shades Trilogy. But that's just me :)Brava Ms. Banks. Brava and Encore!

Hot, Erotic read!
This book was a very hot read. I definitely recommend reading all three books in this series, and in the correct order. This is Mia and Gabe's story.Gabe, Ash, and Jace have been friends and business partners since college. They build and own hotels around the world. Jace lost his parents to a drunk driving accident and was left to raise his little sister, Mia, while he was still in school. The guys helped him get through those years, and became Mia's extended family. Now Mia is all grown up, and Gabe isn't looking at her through his "big brother" eyes anymore. She's absolutely beautiful, and he needs to get her out of his system once and for all. She needs a job and he has one for her.Hiring Mia to work for him as his assistant is the perfect job. She will get to use the college degree she worked hard, unlike her last job. Gabe wants her to stay with him throughout their arrangement. She'll have a desk in his office, working with him. At night, she goes to a business event with him, then they head back to his place for the night. He only wants her to sign his standard contract and warns her to not fall in love with him.But when the lines begin blurring, she's not sure how he feels about things changing. When they decide to tell her brother the truth about them, Mia and Gabe get a surprise of their own!!Will they be able to come back from this? Or is this betrayal too deep to return from?A must read!

A seamless and riveting story of two people who loved each other all along
This book was provided to me by the publisher for an honest review at SeductiveMusings.blogspot.com but I liked it so much that I bought my own copy."The only thing I'm sure of is that I've waited entirely too damn long to have you."Maya Banks' Breathless series is a new trilogy of books about how three fabulously wealthy, attractive and single men each find that one special person to love. Gabe, Jace and Ash are all each other's best friends and together they've built a wildly successful company that owns the best hotels all over the world. In this first book, Rush, Gabe Hamilton decides that the time is finally right to act on his desire to possess the one woman with whom he has been obsessed for years. The main reason he had put it off for so long was the significant age difference between them, but now that she is a grown woman of 24, he can't deny himself for one more day. But the other obstacles are still present, not the least of which is that she is Mia Crestwell, the baby sister of his best friend and business partner Jace. There is also the problem of Gabe's insistence that the relationship be purely one of Dominant/submissive sex, especially when unbeknownst to him, Mia has nurtured a crush on Gabe since she was a teenager. The whole situation is positively guaranteed to end badly for both of them. But when his desire meets her passion, anything is possible, if they can just learn to trust each other outside as well as inside the bedroom."He wanted her desperately and he seemed content to let her do anything she wanted. Anything. It was like laying out a chocolate buffet to a woman with PMS."The word love doesn't even begin to cover my feelings about Rush. The attraction between Gabe and Mia is so compelling and so hot that you wonder how either of them managed to wait this long to act on it. And because this is Maya Banks, we get not only incredibly hot love scenes but also the deep emotions that are stirred up in both Gabe and Mia each time they come together. Rush succeeds where other books of this type have failed because of Maya Banks' ability to put the reader in the heads of her characters in such a way as to understand their motivations at every step, even when we strongly disagree with their actions. She is never afraid to "go there" when it comes to character confrontation, nearly but not quite crossing the line in what readers are likely to forgive in their hero or heroine's behavior. In Rush, this signature style is present on every page, along with her natural gift at creating new worlds with all the supporting characters and backstories without getting bogged down in overly wordy expositions or descriptions."She'd walked into his life and heart like she belonged. And the hell of it was that he was convinced she did."As much as I enjoyed and recommend Rush, I do need to point out that the BDSM scenes between Gabe and Mia may be a bit intense for some readers, especially during a pivotal scene when Gabe's moment of negligence nearly costs Mia more than anyone should ever ask. If the portrayal of a BDSM scene gone wrong is something you would not want to read, then this may not be the book for you. Gabe does not always do the right thing by Mia, but his failure comes more from his attempt to deny his deeper feelings and not because he wants to see her harmed in any way. And once Gabe realizes what Mia really means to him, his efforts to make things right are genuine and heartfelt."She was tattooed on every part of his body. Deeper, in his heart, his very soul. A permanent brand that would never wear off."With Rush, Maya Banks has merged the two tropes of "BDSM billionaire" and "little sister / big brother's best friend" into a seamless and riveting story of two people who loved each other all along but just couldn't manage to make it happen until the time was right at last. I'm eagerly anticipating Ash's and Jace's stories in the next two books of the Breathless series.Ratings:Overall: 5Sensuality level: 5 (several intense BDSM scenes and one attempt of sexual assault)

Escrita ruim
A escrita é ruim, meio perdida. Mas vale a pena ler se você gosta de um romance mais pesado e não muito adocicado.

Love Maya Banks
I have always enjoyed Maya Banks books. They are well written, intense, emotional, and always include strong character development. I say this a lot...this was one of her best. These days there is such a large glut of books about the same theme...rich alpha male with relationship issues and either innocent, shy younger female or 'stand up to him' younger female. And don't get me started on the whole trilogy thing! But this book worked and this is due, in large part, to the wonderful writing of Banks. It felt real and the situations that occurred- which were tough to read and had major impact - felt real and were not overdone. I loved this book and would highly recommend it.And on a really positive note for me...it is a trilogy but each book contains a stand alone story (though the characters will carry through, I imagine). Yippee! I find the whole trend toward books that don't end to be a really bad one and to be blunt, it kind of feels like a bit of a money grab. I read a part of a book, don't like it much but buy the next just to see how it ends. So, I have made the decision not to buy any more books that don't end. Thanks Ms Banks for giving me a good one. I have nothing against books in a series and I can hardly wait for the next ones in this series.

WOW !
I had a really high fever reading this book! I didn't think that a book could get any kinkier and hotter than Fifty Shades Of Grey...I love when a girl fall in love with her brother's best friend, it's just so romantic... The author write really well and has a LOT of imagination, sometimes i was really shocked...This book is the first from the breathless trilogy, i read the two others and they are even better than this one so make sure to go get them! The only critic is maybe the price, i find it a little too high for an E-book.
